Harbour Energy's strategy has been well and truly screwed by HMG for the forseeable, I know they exited sealion but everything for the North Sea has changed since then, reported today they are looking at areas other then the North Sea to develop....I just wonder where they might be looking.

The board my not have been stellar, but I would still take them over ARG, FOGL or even RKH, just my own opinion.

Hi Mr Bond, hope you are well, normally I woud agree but bearing in mind the licences have been renewed and the company is funded for 2 years Im struggling to see what bad news could be, other than they have not yet made any further progress.

A little bit curious we havent had them yet, last year there was a clear reason for the delay, not so this year, not reading anything into it....yet.

All I know is that people like ADB dont tend to throw money away.

Have read the SP Angel report, a good analysis of the prospects and also how we got here over 11 years along with the general history of oil exploration in the FIs. A good read and I would say very useful for anyone relatively new the the Falklands oil companies, certainly more positive in outlook than anything I have seen from a broker for a while although does need to be borne in mind that SP Angel are our appointed brokers.

Now only two weeks away judging by most previous years. Along with many I suspect I will be watching very closely.

Last couple of days has been a test, oil down in low 70s, remains to be seen if this will have an effect on any negotiations which are going on....lets hope not.

I think you miss the point of what Argentine leaders use the dispute for, its a great distraction tactic, an issue that unites 99% of the populace, they wont just cast it aside if they find some oil off their own coast.

Two months till next scheduled update, I want to see confirmation of some progress.

Well its started to head in thebright direction, I think the buyer is being a lot more cagey after the way the price spiked when he started this time last year.....we will see if it goes above 10%

Well my understanding is Argos decided to sell, also Argos had no money, Borders are now funded until around mid 2025 by my reckoning, that is not to say there couldnt be a takeover, but for that to happen someone has to buy a lot of shares first, so I dont think the two cases are strictly compatible. Someone could buy Borders, but they wont get the company for its current 18m valuation

When Harbour ditched sealion one of their main reasons from memory was that virgin basins dont fit their strategy.

Hi gus, if the figures really are as stated for initial capex then it should open other possibilities and interest maybe from smaller partners, we will wait and see, maybe this year...finally.

.....in fact if it hadnt been for the Argentina issue this would have got off the ground long ago.

Well we continue now to wait, but this to me reinforces the fact that if the board cannot get this over the line now, in the current enviroment then they never will. Please though lets not have talk of companies like Shell and BP, anyone working in Argentina is completely off the table in my view.
