Extraordinary, we have gone from being the worst performing Euro bank share at start of business to the best at close! As I say extraordinary.

Could be be going for the all time low today, worst bank share by far so far, our shorters seem to have got the smell of blood!

Well it’s official that Irish banks are the worst performing in the Euro sector in the last year, so everything and more is at this stage is factored in.
However we are by no means the worst banks, far from it, so what’s going on?

Major holdings increasing and shorts at the same time.

Nothing new really, this has been going on for about five years now, €8 down to €1.5, manipulated all the way, yes endgame might be close, but what or who? Us long term holders won’t be getting our money back, of that I have little doubt.

The doom and gloom here is quite extraordinary and way over done in my opinion, the only known dysfunctionality with BoI is the share price. The miserable SP, that I believe has been deliberately driven into the ground over the last number of years, should not be confused with the state of the bank itself, which at last count was relatively healthy. If we are talking about existencial failure here, then the whole game is up for global finance, a possibility, however then the SP will be the least of our worries. Good luck all.

13% down that’s twice as bad as the next worse bank! Soon instead of talking about buying the shares we will actually be close to affording to buy the bank, but maybe that’s the point.

I would be fearful for the whole sector, the virus has opened up the can of worms and unless we can get the lid back on.... anything is possible. There are a lot many more banks worse off than BoI, however their SPs don’t reflect that, IMO.

John I have been saying that for years, even describing myself as a broken record! Yes the sector is bad but this particular baby is being played right down on top of that, hence it’s regularly the worst performer on a daily basis and no other bank share has hit its all time record historical low today! This is a new low for BoI, and as banks go it will not be the first to fail by a long shot, it’s just the SP that’s bad and in no way reflects its performance or strength. Because of the extra sector activity here I will not try to average down and recommend that nobody put their money in here until things are a lot clearer.
