You only make money if you sell at the right price before the upcoming drop. This is just a pump-and-dump scheme, and everyone can make money if they sell at the right time before the dump happens. If you get too greedy and hold on too long, the traders and pumpers will dump the stock, and all the newbies will be left holding the bag.
