Well I’m only about 7p a share short of breaking even….its a day to celebrate😀. The propects do look better than they have since the whole buoy ship damage saga….but history has a habit of sinking all the hopes of this firm so I’m not buying any celebratory drinks yet!
Well, I haven't posted here for a year or more now (someone will probably look it up and check) but my heart sank when I got yet another share offer. I won't be buying any more at this stage - too many times we've been here over the last decade and I do worry that we are providing end of life care rather than investing in a successful operation. I still hope it comes good, but with shares bumping along in the 1-2p region my hopes of making a price in the teens to recoup my long since written off investments in Quadrise, I am not holding out much hope.
After close to 15 years I wonder if this is it? I try to avoid looking at the prices and have kicked myself for not selling at 40p, 30p 20p - even 6p last year.......I'd take 10p now......I would almost be in profit
This time last year I remember saying "this has to be the year - I can't imagine how they will continue to fund things without a commercial contract any more".....but here we are, and I think it's 11th anniversary of me buying into QFI. Maybe 2022 will be the year....new COO does sound promising and my shares are worth so little there's no point in selling....so fingers crossed for 2022. Incidentally - I don't need patronised by someone who's bought in recently and wants to advise me on how confident they are that this time is different.....I've heard it all before! Happy New Year one and all.
I think the lack of massive market movement is probably down to the market being aware of the history of the company and how being close to actually breaking through is not worth anything in the long run - commercial contracts will lead to the big re-rate. Oh how I remember the 40p days...and the 30p days and the 20p days and the dreams of a £1 party. I do think it might actually happen now though. (before anyone who's been here for a couple of months starts to lecture me!!!)
AKHM - I've been here too long to share your optimism.....back in the day I didn't sell at 42p and now I've failed to sell at 4.2p. My average has come down over the years but I suspect if they don't produce something in the next 12 months the game might finally be up.
I think you've hit the nail on the head......the share appears to be tanking at the moment - I should be used to it after all these years but it doesn't seem to get any easier. SO much optimism at th beginning of the year just seems to have gone up in smoke. Kicking myself for not selling when it was over 4p!
Hopefully some sort of leak is causing the rise....must be due some news soon
I really hope you're right....the ducks do finally feel like they're lining up after a decade of torment for me (and many others)!
Against my better judgement I actually topped up yesterday.....my average is now under 10p a share....I have things crossed that this is the year!
That's 2 director buys in a week.....presumably they are at least positive about the prospects even if the market seems to be less so.
I think Madersk is quite fitting given their dumping of MSAR, announcing they'd be moving to other fuels and not fitting scrubbers and now back peddling like a circus cyclist!
Given the massive leap in value over the last week it was bound to happen. If we can stay around where we are now until the next news it would be nice.....but that depends on how far ahead the news is I reckon.
'we've been de-risked' was the original statement.....I think that's a misleading description and not how either the financial world or anyone else would say that something has been started. Effectively WE HAVE BEEN DE-RISKED....the de-risking has already happened. I'm sure everyone is bored of this now....let's move on.
I'm not in financial services though and nor are most on here....saying something is de-risked would mean the risk has been removed.....not -they've started removing some of the risk, which is where we are here and what was actually being said. If I said I'd de-iced my windscreen I wouldn't mean 'I've started scraping it off', I'd mean- I'd removed the ice! Similarly, with other words when you add the prefix 'de'. This share is still very risky - for many years I thought it was going to be the last year, but they have managed to eek it out and this year looks the most positive for many. Fingers crossed for double figures and more.....
Indigo2015 - I quote word for word from the Collins dictionary "Definition of de-risk in British English - VERB - to eliminate risk (from)
It is true.....believe it!
De-risk as per the Collins Oxford dictionary means "eliminate risk" - what you should have said Fyoz is QFI has gone someway towards being de-risked...….but god how many times have we been here before? I apologise if I was patronising - I just want to ensure that people aren't getting carried away (again...and again...and again). I still have the £1 party in my head. What can I say - I want this to succeed so much but I will wait until the commercial success actually happens to say that it has been de-risked.
We've been in a similar position many times before...things look good - possibly better than ever before but anyone who thinks this share is de-risked is an idiot......it's nowhere near being de-risked!
Wow - maybe this is the year.....after over a decade in this share I think we do seem to be sailing back into the light. I just hope MSC have buoy detection radar (I am only joking before anyone loses their sh*t and calls me a troll etc)
I hope you're right jackg123
