I am a bit surprised that sale fell through but my as I hold a fair amount of travel related shares such as IAG ,CCL, TUI and JET2 etc plus some USA travel shares as well my strategy has and will remain as a very long term investor. Travel has always been and increases to be a go to spend for consumers either for holidays or business. No new car or other commodities maybe but travel in engraved in us all.
Give it 5 years and (God willing ) look at the charts again.
As a retired travel agent and airline employee I own shares in 26 different travel companies spread here and in the USA. My shares are collectively down but... if you look at the pre covid prices thay can all now rise about 40% over the next few years..
It will take time as finances have been stretched on most companies accounts but with a fair wind, no war and no more nasty covid about then travel shares will fly again (pun intended). My guess 3 years ???

You will get 36% of new Nat Exp shares for every Stagecoach share held...so 100 Stage coach held = 36 new Nat Exp shares. as far as the share price for Nat Exp goes then no price preset. The market will decide that as it does for every share. If you want to sell your Stagecoach shares and not consolidate to Nat Exp the asking price will be about 80p I think... ??
As far as I can work out the offer is 36% of NEW Nat Exp shares for every Stagecoach share held. So a hundred held Stagecoach held shares will result in 36 new Nat Exp shares in the merged company. Any held Nat Exp shares do not change only of course that the SP price may vary. . In addition the asking price was set on 20 Sept as 18% above the closing price that day. The closing price was about 68p so the asking price is 80p. Not sure I have all these facts correct and somebody far more in the know will I expect, correct me.
Hi
I have hopefully sold on the tender offer 39% of my holdings. The remaining shares I own are now sliding down. I am still in profit but its diminishing fast. A question for you.
1/ Would you hold on to your shares no matter what in the hope you may get a cash dividend or something simialar
2/ Sell the lot and hopefully rebuy at a lower price
3/ Hold the shares and top up at a lower price to raise the Averages (and get any dividends)
I am sure there are many more savvy investers who will have a view. So difficult this one ..
I have IAG shares which are now in a negative situation for me. A question for you..
1/ Do you sell the lot now and hopefully buy back in at a cheaper price or.....
2/ Hold on and dont sell any and let it slide and then hopefully buy more to top up to lower your average???
I am sure there are many more savvy investers than me who could tell me approach they take. Thanks
I am down as well but maybe the selling price of the offer is currently marginly attractive. However, regardless of covid worries and the current share price if you sell you miss out on any future dividends especially if the selling uptake is not high and not worth the 40% of shares in circulation . Whatever is sold increases the share value due to millions of shares being taken out of circulation. My guess is that the uptake will not be very high so a cash dividend or other way will be found. These are all possible better earners than selling at 105p.... crystal ball time me thinks...
I look at this board for comments on a share and how one thinks it is doing. I wanted to consider interlectual remarks. However what is see is bickering and name calling. Its like being back at school. Please stop. Lets concentrate on the share not the individual. Thanks
Found this on the First notes of the intended offer to shareholders..
"Each of the Directors has confirmed that they do not intend to tender through the Tender Offer any of their current individual beneficial holding of Ordinary Shares." If the Directors dont want to sell and accept why should anyone else think its a good scheme ???
Damofari... why have you such a dislike for the "Free" 41p offer ?? It isnt a Free offer but a promise by First. They made that commitment to shareholdes so you cannot blame any investor who acts accordingly and buys mores shares. Thats not greed but good financial practice (or so we thought) . Yes I was interested in the business thats why I had shares to start with. Maybe you dont have shares ... I really dont know why you are trying to be so one sided towards First here.
The recent high SP is because more investors have bought .. I agree ... but share prices go up and down and yes It may be 40p up now but thats not the same as the return of 40p dividend to investers paid by First. Suppose the SP had not gone up what would you say then. To me your aguement doesnt work. As others have said here.. "we want our 40P per share"
