Zalando sell other brands and not their own brands. They are not the same as Boohoo.

Sosander haven't made a profit as yet, they may be close to it, however I can't see it happening now because of the cost of living increases.

Allianz Insurance was the underwriter of historic PPI sold to customers by JD Williams, an N Brown subsidiary. The insurer issued claims against the group for redress payments made to customers and increased the value of its original claim to £30m plus interest. In June 2021, Allianz estimated the value of a further element of the claim at up to £36m – these are significant amounts given the group’s bottom line. Analysts at Shore Capital “expect cash outflows from the outcome”. Management thinks any cash flows will likely be realised in FY2023.

Plus N Brown may well have much more debt in the future as they provide their own finance to buy their products.

For me, N Brown has too much debt. I stay well clear of any company with too much debt.

So you're obviously hoping to buy more Boohoo shares at 50p. Maybe it'll get there, maybe it won't. Nobody knows.

For me, Sosander aren't making a profit, have yet to make a profit and could be hit more than the likes of Boohoo by the cost of living increases. Sosander clothes are more expensive.

I'd be interested too in reading Ragtrade's views on Sosander.

The negativity on here wears the best of us down. There's far too much of it. The scales have become totally unbalanced on here towards too much negativity.

We need some positivity.

Boohoo may well be taken over before mid-2023 because of its huge potential.

It's a mammoth task for Boohoo getting all 13 brands up, running and increasing revenue. This takes time, at least two years. It'll be mid-2023 when the fruits of this start to show.

Boohoo made £2bn revenue and £1bn gross profit for year ending 28 February 2022.

Boohoo had loads of expenditure during that year, new warehouses, automating warehouses, new Leicester factory and training establishment, London building where they could open a store on bottom floor in the future, marketing costs for Debenhams and website, marketing costs for the likes of Wallis, Burton, Dorothy Perkins and other brands bought from Arcadia Group plus the huge supply chain costs and supply chain disruptions. No doubt much more that others on here can add.

Zalando sells mainly other brands so it's more of a wholesaler than an own brand company unlike Boohoo. Boohoo owns 13 brands.

According to analysts at Deutsche Bank, the company’s new guidance implies that its full-year earnings will be some 90 per cent lower than previously expected.

The analysts remain positive on Zalando in the long run, cautioning investors not to “throw the baby out with the bathwater” as Zalando was “a quality asset with realistic earnings expectations at a cheap valuation”.
