Pale-RIder I hope you don't wear seat belts either. A measure put there for everyone's safety? I think not. More like government mandated contraints shackling your forceably to your car.
Agreed, RBMInvest's earlier post showed a very balanced view that many of us are toiling with. Let's hope for a better days for Nova and for a covid free world as quickly as possible.
Why hopeful of an RNS tomorrow? What's that based on?
hope!
Just to add, that took me all of 3 minutes of looking to find out. I think instead of brewing up conspiracy theories, people need to stick to the facts and the data. IMO
This is Rule 1 of the takeover code and conduct
When a person or group acquires interests in shares carrying 30% or more of the voting rights of a company, they must make a cash offer to all other shareholders at the highest price paid in the 12 months before the offer was announced (30% of the voting rights of a company is treated by the Code as the level at which effective control is obtained).
so that theory does not work as the buyout price would still have to be the highest priceof the share over the last 12 months
The volume is tiny and we are just bouncing around the 330-350 range. I don't see lots of people jumping back in
this is in refence to Jollifant's pearls of wisdom
Can we please address the fact that you stated something above which you believed to be true and was in fact completely untrue. You would of known this if you had read one piece of Information(RNS). So now anything else you state cannot be deemed to be worth anything as you are making comments about a share you cannot even be bothered to read the latest information about...
very telling
I have no agenda here, I'm neither a ramper nor decamped, I just invested in a company and technology that I think will have a bright future and am now resigned to playing the long game with this.
Well said Poidster and I especially agree with the point made above. A balanced view is a healthy thing. Something that many on this forum do not seem to grasp with utterly blinkered vision. I too am invested and looking at a large loss at the current price. I want to believe that the share price will shoot up on the back on dispute news being less damaging than thought. I, like many, see great potential in the future for Novacyt IF they use this opportunity to diversify and grow appropriately. However my gut is telling me that it is going to take a long time to see this share grow once more.
This forum needs to be a place where interesting and balanced view points can be debate in a useful manner. I think it is less useful to be ramping, convinced the dispute nothing to worry about and this share will be back to £12 in no time.
positivity is always good but investing is tricky and sometimes the hardest thing to be able to do is to look at a share for what it is.
( I am not sure what nova is probably due to my own bias!)
I tend to agree with what Johnnykipper is saying. A lot of lucky people got in nova for 370 and rode it for 30% gain and then jumped out to seek out less risky shares. As a longterm holder expressing a distaste for this practice is simply hypocritical. We would all love a quick 30% in 3 days of trading.
I believe in Novacyt, in so much as I think the current sp is too low. There are still huge question marks over the company's future and until they really clarify that in a detailed strategy the stock will be fragile and easily spooked.
We can make guesses as to what is happening, blame the 'mms for another treeshake', say shorters are coming in (this is actually quite rare in uk stocks. A much more prominent practice in US) but I think using Occam's Razor is needed here which states the simplest explanation is usually the best one. Novacyt had a fantastic RNS and some press in the daily mail and so lots of people jumped in for a tidy profit and are now jumping out. The SP will languish until we hear another update.
I am a novacyt fan, held it since September last year and ridden it up and all the way down.
So I am positive about it's SP rising again, to where? I am not as certain. £54 sounds a touch ambitious to me but let's hope for in the short term it can try and get back to £7-8
just one mans opinion, as always DYOR and gl to you all
The title of this post is pretty misleading. Especially at a time when people are really desperate for some decent Novacyt RNS or information that gives insight into the company's long term financial future.
Agreed, after November drop I picked up some more Nova at what now looks like a bargain price. I sold 20% of my total stake yesterday just to derisk my portfolio somewhat. I still have 60% riding on this stock and look forward to it realising its full potential.
