WASHINGTON, Aug 25 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden on Thursday signed an executive order on implementation of the $52.7 billion semiconductor chips manufacturing subsidy and research law, the White House said.

Earlier this month, Biden signed the bill to boost efforts to make the United States more competitive with China's science and technology efforts. By subsidizing U.S. chip manufacturing and expanding research funding, the law aims to alleviate a persistent shortage that has affected everything from cars and weapons to washing machines and video games.

Okay I was exaggerating on the "money for nothing" quote.
I worked in IT Services which supports the BPO and did/does lots of bespoke stuff.
A lot of the bespoke stuff was highly competitive and therefore gross margin was low teens.
Honestly I couldn't see how the net margin was a positive figure after all the people involveds wages were taken care off and I guess that was my overall point on CPI. It is a people business and they have LOTS of them, at the bottom end they have living wage employees but many managers and many middle managers. These managers spend a great deal of time talking to each other and reporting to each other pointless stats and spreadsheets which overall must cost a fortune. My leaving was part of the ongoing restructuring that CPI have been doing for ages.

My final point was in relation to any single company share purchase, it is HIGH risk. Cineworld is showing this right now but any company regardless of how good its product/solution is can be mis-managed into oblivion.

I have no axe to grind but will always check on CPI shares i had lots at £10+ once

For the record I worked at CPI for 13 years and these shares are by no means safe, they are trading at rock bottom for a reason. John Lewis is being paid a pretty penny as are many other managers in CPI ( I was a team manager so 1st level £80Kpa) and the cost to the business in wages is huge, genuinely not sure what outsiders see in this company buy anyone investing big sums they can't afford to lose in ANY single company shares needs to have a reality check.

Employees are 1st in line
Bond holders are 2nd with other debtors
shareholders get whats left, square root of zero

sorry for the holders with large losses of 90% etc.

Cine will still exist after a restructuring but shareholders will be wiped out.

Anyone investing in these "cheap" shares can still lose 100%.

c2645sg yep the market cap is 10 x trailing earnings and that's what TB have typically paid to acquire businesses such as DARK.

This isn't luxury complex hardware like Aston Martin Lagonda cars, software once developed is 100% margin and DARK have 48% YoY earnings growth so 10x trailing might be a bargain...

This looks cheap compared to yesterday, last month, last year and its all time high of 300p in 2019.
