I have been looking at the investment case for THRU as I’m currently looking to diversify out of oil stocks and into tech stocks. I spent the weekend looking at thru but have found little to excite me and am struggling to find an investment case here. Looking back through RNS I see a deal announced with US border force for £3Mill and another in Vietnam for £400k. These are hardly company making figures for a tech co with a £30Mill Mcap and massive expenditure on research and development and design. Capex is always hugs on tech cos. They need to spend heavily on RnD to keep up with competitors or get left behind so these figures are not significant. The security and surveillance sdcgof in the US where the bod are trying to break in is a severely saturated market and this trump administration are not disposed to giving big gov contracts to uk companies. Not gonna happen, especially with another election looming. It’s make America great again, not dish out contracts to overseas players. Furthermore the sector is moving towards more targeted security checks and away from mass scanning as recently controversially highlighted by Michael O’Leary the Ryanair CEO. All in all, I’m not excited by Thru. There is no trading update as there is nothing to update and I see this dropping dramatically this year. I’ll keep watching thru as part of my research of this sector and if the Mcap drops to £10mill and if they come up with some innovative products that don’t already have massive US competition then it might be worth a punt but not currently for me. Risk v Reward here in this crowded high capex sector does not stack up at all.

There’s no trading update because there isn’t any news to update on.
Very little chance of Thru breaking into the US security market in any size. The odd little £3mill contract is not going to finance the massive RnD capex costs in this sector.

For your future reference older I tend to post my actual sincerely held opinions on these boards at any time, irrespective of my position.
I still don’t think WNA2 flow test will proceed and even if it does there will be no results until after the B wells are also drilled and tested so you are looking at August to September for any significant news of recovery here.
That’s my true opinion even though I hold 17 million shares.

What’s “ramping” about saying the share price has been shafted from 1.35 to 0.5 mostly by an incompetent BoD but we are lucky because we raised £24Million cash?

From 1.35p to 0.6p - Shafted by the silence of the BoD and refusal to communicate promised news across a diversified portfolio of assets.

From 0.6p to 0.5p - Shafted by Covid 19 irrational panic in the markets in general.

From 0.5p to ??? - Shafted by the ongoing production disagreements between the Saudis and US shale.

Time to switch off and come back in the autumn after the drilling of the B wells. Hopefully things will have picked up by then.
RBD is in a better position than most having raised a massive £24Million at 0.9 so at least we don’t have to raise.
Any oilers that look like they have to raise in the next 6 months might as well just switch off the lights now.

You posted this on the UOG board but it’s largely irrelevant as UOG have a an £8Mill deal with BP to sell all our Egyptian production at $60/barrel.
As it isn’t really relevant to UOG I thought I’d post it back here. Have fun.

Yes it doesn’t look great at the moment does it Oiler. I see you’ve scattergun posted that all over junior oil sector boards this morning.
The reality is that the oil bear market makes a compelling case for investment in UOG as our unprecedented £8Mill finance deal with BP sets a floor on our sale price of $60 for the next 30 months! What a deal!
BP must have been massively impressed with bod the BoD here and the assets to give UOG such a deal. UOG are currently producing 1760bopd and rising, all still being sold at $60/barrel while many other bigger oilers are suffering.
More gas production coming online shortly and a fully funded drilling program underway in a location with an 80% strike rate. Further discoveries will be put straight into production at $60/barrel no matter how low the poo falls.
I don’t know how the BoD got this deal, and with BP of all people, but it makes a compelling case for investment here.
I’m in and adding at these bargain basement prices.

FairPlay Levi. I didn’t work it out. LSE figures probably out of date. Mcap should be a shade over £41Million based on 1760bopd at $20 netback. 7.5-8p target on SP, not considering any further drilling success.

Anybody know a projected date for TD on this current drill? 4-6 weeks would be standard and spud was 3rd feb.

1760bopd since the Ash 2 discovery, with another 200boepd has to be added after pipeline work. UOG currently has an Mcap of only £9Million so that existing current production is already “transformational”. That production represents revenue of c. $12Million plus change at the $60/barrel floor price agreed within the BP finance deal. Mcap here should be 4X revenue without factoring in any other assets. I’d say that’s a transformational deal and a transformation waiting to happen. Mr Larkin has undoubtedly hit the sweet spot this time irrespective of the levels of success of anything he’s done in the past. Undervalued opportunity here.

after a lot of research on the company.

1.) Quality O&G based experienced BoD with good track record ex Tullow.
2.) Funding deal with BP is extremely unusual. BP must have liked the assets and the company. They don’t throw their cash at junior oilers in normal circumstances.
3.) Egypt Gov well disposed to oil production and no swampy problems and gov red tape.
4.) 4 well fully funded drilling program for Egypt in 2020 at Abu Sennan which has an 80% success rate for drills.
5.) Gas asset in Italy to come online Q4 2020 with further production and income.

On the whole UOG looks well worth a punt here with current production valuing the company at double the Mcap (4 X revenue normally). With a couple of development drill hits at Abu Sennan and Italy in production, by Q4 UOG could be one of the success stories of 2020. Nothing’s certain but this looks as good as it gets for value, growth and risk b reward in the junior Oiler sector IMO. DYOR.

Money moving in for the El Samiya 5 drill news. TD can’t be far off as spud was 3rd Feb. 80% success rate for wells in this area. Looking forward to news soon.

I’d suggest it isn’t in their interests to post their true opinions any longer because they’ve all bought in at the 0.12 price that they all knew was coming and you rampers said they’d never see.

12 Million barrels? So what? That’s nothing. Nothing at all.
The UK alone imports over 6 Million barrels of crude per week, from Norway, Saudi, USA etc.
Selling 12 million barrels into the global oil market will have no effect on the crude price whatsoever. Possibly a good headline for market bears and swampies but of little consequence in reality.

The figures are provided to the state authority by the operator, TMS. They are not independent.

Why don’t they RNS these numbers? Where are the flow numbers for both gas and oil for VG4 after it was put into production following the gas line tie in. Why no further update as promised? Simple question.

The business model has been abandoned FYOZ. The business model touted was to invest in a range of assets to provide a rich flow of news, a news rich period as they put it. They haven’t done that. My point is that they have failed to update the markets on several and many key assets and have failed to deliver on their own strategy and business model.
Hence why the sp is where it is.
We need firm well data figures and production figures for B2, VG4 and updates on flowxtezting progress and numbers for VG6 and IM1 and we need production bopd numbers for all wells across the California asset. We need to know where we are up to with Parta, when will IM1 be tested and what is the forward plan.
I don’t know why investors seem so excited about WN because of their performance on the other assets is any indication then we are going to get no well data whatsoever.

Why do you think they are suddenly going to start giving the market numbers for WN when they haven’t done so for any of their other assets? I don’t get the logic. We can only judge them on their past performance as far as value accretive news flow is concerned and I’m afraid it is very far from satisfactory.

Jack; If you want to buy another 17 million shares at the current ask then go ahead and post your trades. It won’t take you long. I don’t have to sell mine to enable you to buy, there’s plenty of free float here, plenty of confetti. Ring your broker, place your order and post your trade if you’re so keen. I won’t hold my breath to read your confirmation though. Full of it.

Fyoz The excuse of majors sniffing round and data rooms and NDAs is wheeled out on every stock on AIM by dreamers and tampers.
The bod need to start delivering news here on performance of existing assets and start keeping promises to update the market.
I will continue to hold a negative view here and post accordingly until they start delivering on their promises of newsflow across a diversified portfolio.
Don’t care who doesn’t like it. Don’t care who disagrees. This is the fault of the bod, not me. The sp is down here because of the inaction of our directors. Get used to negative opinion until they up their game.
