The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
That press release will be an update in all the papers tomorrow then.
Lovely jubbly.
Will confidently sell out of the last of my other plays and throw the kitchen sink at any dips now.
I’m emptying the clip in here and holding.
If you were on the ball you had about 5 minutes to buy there between the Abingdon update tweet and the Omega RNS lol.
I agree chapsville.
There are already news articles all over the Internet from reputable sources saying that users of online dating networks in both U.K. and USA are adding “Positive for Covid Antibodies” as a way of advertising themselves to others.
This is the social trend.
“Possibly too late now to have any antibodies but would have been good to know“
Chuggley; It isn’t too late. It’s only a few months ago. Take a home antibody test when they’re available and see. Latest science is saying Antibody immunity/resistance could be anything from 6 months to 2 years but obviously it’s a very new strain of virus so they won’t know for certain for years to come.
That’s why they’ll test whole populations and monitor those that have antibodies every few months with another test to see if we still have antibodies because they will need to build a picture of antibodies and immunity.
They can only do that by mass testing. Currently it’s all guesswork based on how we react to other similar Coronaviruses and extrapolation based on small sample sizes.
You probably haven’t had Covid then have you. You’ve had a chest infection.
I had a chest infection last year that turned into bronchitis and I had to get antibiotics.
You’re obviously trying to infer that not everybody who gets Covid has antibodies and so Antibody testing is useless. Yawn. Yeah whatever. The whole RTC is just a waste of time. Get ya. Ok. Next.
Regardless of what stage the company are at regarding development and manufacture I still think the release of news will have to be authorized by the government and will happen when it fits in with their strategy.
Daily Mail have already done a big front page story on the RTC and they’ll be watching for any updates on the story just like we are. As soon as the RNS drops that the tests are going into manufacture in their millions then it’s going to be front page news “Entire UK population to get new home antibody test”. The briefings will then be all about where are the tests and when can we buy them....are we there yet....are we there yet...
That’s why I think gov are calling the shots on news. I’m sure the company in normal circumstances would have issued an RNS if and when the performance bar were reached for the test strip but that has not been possible. Hence Abingdons frustrated excited tweeting and Colin saying as much as he could on sky news without actually spilling the beans.
Just got to wait until the phase of gov strategy is ready to roll it out but I reckon we’ll know more by then.
Wouldn’t be surprised if we get leaked news of manufacture and even leaked photographs of the sticks.
GLA.
I see what you are saying regarding the whole package merchant and that would make sense seeing as four companies need to be making exactly the same kit, cassette, prick, etc.
The hard part technically was always achieving the high performance bar for the test strip. The tweeting from Abingdon, job ads, preparation for production and Colin on Sky News suggests to me that most difficult most important aspect has been achieved.
However, they can’t formally “freeze” the design of the package to be manufactured by the four different companies until the results of the REACT study come back and they decide what cassette etc they are going with.
That would make sense.
So from that it looks like we are there technically so there’s excitement, confidence and preparation but they can’t formally announce anything because the whole package to be manufactured is not yet decided upon.
If that’s where we’re at then that would explain all the confusing mixed messages we are getting to suggest that the thing is finished but “design freeze not yet achieved”.
Ok. That’s my current opinion. It’s been confusing but looks like we’re there bar the shouting and just waiting for REACT study results and decision on final package including connectivity app which is probably being tested and assessed in parallel.
Happy days.
Design freeze is just for the strip inside to have achieved the accuracy and specificity bar of 98% or above. This is the mark where it’s deemed possible to test whole populations with accuracy. So the test strip inside has to be 98% or better, as good as a lab test, as good as humanly possible.
The assessment for ease of use is for the whole package, cassette and finger prick system etc. all of which already exist.
That’s how I understand it and as a Design Engineer myself, that makes sense to me and logically, that’s how things are done.
At their rate of 40,000 tests a day it would take them 3-1/2 years to test 50 million people using the roche lab tests.
Han**** basically said they are testing 40,000 a day currently because that’s the max that can be done because of the time it takes to draw blood. At that rate it will take 250 days or 8 months to use up the 10 million lab tests they’ve bought.
And that’s only 1/5 of the population.
True Rodders. Both his posts are total bu77sheet.
Read and understood KP4. Important information. Cheers.
Exactly small trader.
It’s my opinion that Colin went on Sky News with the deliberate intention of pushing the envelope of what can be disclosed precisely because he is frustrated at being unable to tell shareholders where they are up to with the test development.
I’m sure he’d tell us via RNS if he could but I think the company has been gagged. Abingdon are also obviously chomping at the bit to let the cat out the bag hence all the positive tweets tagging the RTC.
I think Colin said as much as he could to inform investors that the tests are successful.
Good man Colin. Many thanks. Some of us got the message. I did and I’m chilled.
I’ll wait for it to play out now. Not traded anything for days and won’t be. GLA.
*its not worth repeating it all
I laid out my opinion yesterday and it worth repeating it all.
Han**** is a bad liar. Stares into the camera and tries too hard to look sincere when he’s lying.
Watch him when he’s talking about the science around antibodies.
Gov just aren’t ready to say “Ok you lot, there’s your antibody tests, those of you that are positive can just ignore any guidelines we set out from now on”
They are not at that stage yet. Our tests are part of a staged strategy.
As investors we have 2 choices: Wait for the strategy to play out or sell up and chase other rainbows. Your call. Good luck.
Woody, Ask him how that Cobra is going that he was buying at 2.95 only a few weeks ago. Price today 1.5. Lol.
Should have bought ODX at 35p a month ago.

I haven’t had any issues buying on IG this afternoon - quotes going up to £25k - but you are usually paying over at that point ...
Price today....
Avacta and Novacyt both 5% down. Novacyt down on quite impressive production figures but it’s a lab based antigen test. There’s dozens of them. It’s a crowded marketplace.
Investors want some excitement. A unique, small, cheap, accessible product that the entire world needs.
Accurate home antibody tests and immunity certificates. It’s the way forward. The market is starting to wake up to it now.
The ODX Tortoise will be well ahead by the Autumn.
GLA.
Morning shake to mug the hard of thinking, followed by FOMO rockets. Perfect.
Expecting a big blue FOMO day today with more twittering and tweeting from the unlisted RTC partners and the “hard of thinking” scrambling to get back as the reality of the massive global significance of immunity certificates begins to register in their sleeping grey matter.
It’s the time of the Omega Tortoise.
GLA. DYOR.
Dibs; Do Omega have any existing links with De la Rue plc #DLAR. ?
It would be good to know who did Omega use to add the Authenticator packaging, stickers labels etc to their visitect cd4 product to authenticate it.
If it was de la rue we could be game on for immunity certificates
See DLAR RNS today that sent them up 200%
