China vanadium market review

China ammonium metavanadate market

Some factories have resumed production but the supply remains tight. Despite several traders offer relatively lower price for profit taking, ammonium metavanadate is trading mainly in a range of 243000-252000 rmb/ton (cash, tax inclusive). The large-scale producers’ selling prices are over 250000 rmb/ton. Ammonium metavanadate prices are stable this week.

China vanadium pentoxide market

The enquiries for vanadium pentoxide flake are active. Some vanadium-nitrogen manufacturers, lacking of raw materials, have to control production. Excluding Tranvic, Desheng and Jianlong, the large-scale factories like Liaoning Hongjing, mostly quote V2O5 flake at 275000 rmb/ton (cash, tax inclusive). Other traders have few spot cargoes. Two V2O5 powder factories resume production but they are yet to finish contracted orders. Vanadium pentoxide powder supplies are limitd and the buying interest is also low.

Still the potential for a knee jerk reaction (although not sure how quickly the knee jerks in European legislation) resulting in even higher vanadium consumption could blow the bl**dy doors off (even more) of the vanadium price

Questions are being asked in relation to yesterday’s Italian bridge collapse

How did Davide Capello, the Italian goalkeeper survive the 160ft fall and did the Italian tax authorities act to save him?
Did the foundations give way in poor ground.
Is there sufficient ‘vanadium’ in the rebar reinforcement used in Italian and European bridges (see link for chart showing Consumption vs % vanadium standards).

According to ii it's showing the closing price in my portfolio as 28p which is weird.

Pdub, I didn't intend my post to bring us back to the same old argument with regards to SP Angel. I was just posting a link which showed a table as some additional information.

They believe, rightly or wrongly, that the vanadium price will level out at $35kg

They've gone with $66kg for this year because now that were 7 months through the year and the likelihood of $66 rather than the previous $35 is more likely they can be more confident of achieving that.

It's the same forecast YTSS but this one has a table included

They're still using $35kg for 2019 onwards whereas for $2018 they've used $66kg

Well, that's debatable. As forays go only BMN had the foresight to take on a Vanadium asset when Vanadium was rock bottom and progress to production BEFORE the price of Vanadium rose sharply.
