Why is the price down over 8% today?

At the risk of looking foolish I have googled URI and all can get is Urinary Tract Infection, Uniform Resource Identifier or University of Rhode Island so perhaps you could enlighten me. I see a lot of cryptic and elliptical comments in here with puzzling acronyms thrown around. Some of us are relative novices and not hardened day traders - I only have time to do this at the weekend no matter what the market is doing!

I bought a little Ashtead when it was 803 so have made 40% and have been watching out for a chance to pounce. Is this it? Anyone know why Ashtead is now 15% off its 52-week high?

What's the fuss all about? I have read the original RNS on 1st April and the fact that Leonoff was providing shares as collateral as a loan was made clear at that time. Surely this was a big vote of confidence in the company - who in their right minds would want to risk being in a position of having to replay a loan with interest in exchange for shares which had fallen in value? It's all old news - if it was such a big deal why did the shares not fall 20% back in April? Looks to me like a shorter's agenda. The game is to somehow stir up negative feeling about a good company in order to be able to buy their shares at a lower price. Another vote of confidence in fact.

Maybe, but emotions by their nature are transient while fundamentals are not. Sooner or later bargain hunters will take an interest in the fundamentals.

Yes it makes sense if you have made some money already. I only got into OPAY recently and so am losing heavily on the recent downturn. So there's no way I'm going to sell now as I believe this is just a blip and the long term prospects are great. If the price falls further this week I may buy more. From everything I've read it's very unlikely that the bill will be passed - New Jersey is making significant state income from online gambling and it would be politically very difficult for the federal govt to put an end to that.

Seemingly the bill is being sponsored by Las Vegas Sands Corp. owner Sheldon Adelson (probably the richest man in the world) who wants to try and stamp out any competition to his business. It's hard to see Congress going for that
