Russia exports 198 million tonnes of coking coal, a large portion goes to China but the rest may be the target of sanctions which are now likely.
It would be a great shame if customers were forced elsewhere.
I agree, they will be producing a commodity which is in short supply globally, it's not going to be ignored.
The Chinese wanted it on the cheap, the company made the right decision in my view, if the Chinese don't come back someone definitely.
I'm not watching the gold at the moment, the coal is near term.
The future is bright
Whilst everyone seems to be upset over I have no idea what, it's important to remember any mining company going into production is a massive milestone. The work that goes into reaching that point is long and complicated and many fail, that's why I'm upbeat and probably why people are buying at this level, make the most of this opportunity whilst it's here.
Ignore the nonsense talk on social media & concentrate on the facts from the rest releases.
I've sold any, I've added because nothing has changed.
For clarity it's only rated as moderate.

I don't think we should be to fixated with the daily price changes of Chinese coking coal, as it will be only one element in the overall calculation of any deal made, there will be many other factor involved.
The cocoa plant and industry will die out irrespective of Anics involvement, the product is important so we need to be ready for when it dies of natural causes, there is no other option in this case.
Similar situation with the commercially farmed banana plant which produces most bananas in the world, the plant Musa Cavendish also suffers from disease but unlike cocoa there is another option, the likely replacement plant is Musa Ensete. The ensete plant is the only banana plant to grow in Africa, is disease resistant and will in time replace the Cavendish, which is a better outcome than the terminal cocoa.
One of the reason this is a good investment is because the cocoa plant is very susceptible to disease, the loss currently is a around 30% per year to diseases and that number is increasing, so it's an important crop but a new way to produce it is needed.
