"Mike Hussey, the managing director of the London portfolio of property giant Land Securities is to leave the company at the end of June. The company said the decision for Husssey to step down from the board and leave the company was by mutual agreement, following a major change in the strategic direction of the company. During the time Land Securities was preparing to split itself into three quoted companies Hussey had been lined up to be the chief executive of one of those companies, but the company has since abandoned its demerger plans."

"Kesa Electricals, best known in the UK for its Comet electricals stores, has confirmed it is in talks to sell off its Swiss operation. The company is in exclusive negotiations with Swiss electrical retailing chain FUST, which is interested in buying Kesa’s Swiss operations for SF20m (£11.4m). Kesa said the sale will not result in a paper loss for the group."

The Markets are tanking today, and PUB has a history of volatility. So it may regain some ground, but there again maybe not, especially until this call for money is sorted out. ATB

I’d be careful with this one. Even the cash that they are raising is merely a drop in the ocean in comparison with the massive debt that they are drowning in. ATB

Yes, I am long on various positions, but I have – if you check on the BB taken profits on some for now. Obviously, I’m bullish on gold, and some other commodities. However sold POG – waiting to get back in under 500p – but holding OXS, CEY & CLF. Pharmas: holding BGC, AZM, sold ASM and waiting to get back in under 25p. Oils; sold EO. @15.75p but waiting to get in very soon! Still, also holding BRR, & EMED, may be correct, may be wrong ATB NB I’m standing by to make a fortune shorting, all the dross which has floated to the surface, in recent months! But take care the imbeciles - with no actual mandate to govern - are still flooding the economy with silly money! But debt, affordability, real wealth, shoot the cretin etc. will take hold eventually. :{

Hi, I haven’t looked at SVS for a while, and I’m not a charts person!!! However, looking at the SP graph, it is also on that unsustainable “rash-dash-for-trash-trend” that we’ve experienced recently. How long it will continue, mate, I don’t know! There is a maxim that suggests that market irrationally can outlive ones liquidity! It is mainly down to “glubbermint” silly interference that cannot last! Q.E. etc. Reality: i.e. debt, unemployment, affordability, etc will focus minds and pockets, before too much longer! When? I don’t know. But there will be much more “real wealth” to be made once this “sucker-rally” dies, than those who have “hitched a ride on rubbish," and won’t let go, and then, only to face total wipe-out! ATB. PS Gold and associates, plus appropriate shorting, will help towards a comfortable retirement!

Barclays Capital initiated coverage of semiconductor designer ARM Holdings (ARM) with an 'outperform' rating and a price target of 120p, and said clients should take advantage of any foreign exchange-related weakness in the share price. "In addition to continuing to generate good growth from the mobile market, Arm's fundamentals will increasingly be driven by share gains in new end-markets, not just the oft-discussed netbooks but also microcontrollers, consumer electronics and storage," BarCap said. Though acknowledging that the recent revival in the value of sterling will act as a drag on top-line growth, it still expects Arm to outperform the sector. ARM shares finished 3p ahead at 108.25p

"Goldman Sachs added shares in WPP (WPP) to its 'conviction buy' list, arguing that although WPP's recent sales figures were bad, they could be close to bottoming out, as businesses begin to ratchet up marketing spend in the second half of the year to coincide with an expected revival in the economy. The US bank believes that with around one-fifth of the company's sales now generated in emerging markets (including Zimbabwe where WPP acted as Robert Mugabe's PR agent in the last election campaign), the company is well placed to benefit from the global recovery. It is sticking with its prediction of 8% organic growth for WPP this year, based in part on an increase in the order pipeline. In comparison with rivals Publicis and Omnicom, the share's price/earnings ratio is around 20% lower than the former and 30% lower than the latter, it noted. WPP shares rose by 7p to 432.5p on the back of the note note."
