Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
The dividend has already been declared and will be paid as scheduled on May 27th. The first quarter dividend has yet to be declared and could be in doubt. My personal view is they will stick to the first quarter dividend as they have a policy in place to pay 20% of the previous years dividend for the first three quarters. The board will not want to change this policy but could well do given the circumstances.
May's dividend will NOT be impacted.
I've got a couple myself ;-)
After topping up with £10,000 worth this morning @32.835p I've now got over half a million shares - 540,216.
I'm £122,000 down on my total holding. Hoping the prices stay low for when I get the dividend though.
Please excuse my previous response to an obvious troll who is probably after decent posters like myself reacting the way I did. I fully support you removing that post and this one in the hope you remove the trolls latest ID and posts from this board and the Lloyds board.
@genuine posters - please report Steve as ‘Other’ and say he’s a troll who posts about nothing but Jack because they are one and the same.
I'm currently sitting on a paper loss of £34,635 - but I'm not worried as I am in for the longterm.
I should get a divi of £10,700 in May and then £3,200+ on the next 3 quarters. I'm just hoping the share price is like this for when I re-invest my divi's and then I can profit more when this recovers.
I feel for people who are stuck in this share with losses and I hope you get your money back.
Do you think it will go that low when they're announcing final results? I'm expecting a raised final dividend and a further buyback program to be launched. The final dividend will be paid in May followed by the first quarter dividend in June. Then dividends every 3 months. I think that will make it a more attractive share to be in.
That was a good interview. I like Jes Staley and he seems very confident about the future of Barclays fortunes in the UK, the US and Europe. Let's hope the fourth quarter gives some strong results from the investment bank to support the strategy of being a 'Universal Global Bank'.
If they do half as well as the American investment banks then they should be good.
Broker target prices are what they believe should be the share price today and into the near future. They are usually reviewed twice a year, or following a significant change in a company's fortunes or strategy.
A broker covers a company and then carries out research to come up with a target price based on what that broker thinks the company should be valued at. Obviously there can be a significant price difference between the target price the broker thinks the company is worth and its actual market valuation.
Whilst we now know that Brexit will happen there is still uncertainty around what deal will be agreed if any during the transition period. I think that is what is still holding UK Bank Shares back. But I also think the worst is behind us and banks like Barclays and Lloyds are hugely undervalued and will offer decent capital returns and dividends over the next couple of years. If a good deal is achieved with the EU then we could see a return to the golden times for UK Banks as we have already seen with banks in the USA.
This is like an amateur broker ratings list :-)
I'm a 'Strong Buy' for Lloyds....

There couldn't have been a better result for banks today. I'm finally back in profit on this share and quite significantly in Lloyds. I think we're in for a good year in 2020 - fingers crossed.
p.s. Where's the multiple personality posts gone? I read some earlier but they seem to have disappeared.
I've just looked through my screenshots on the GOD Jack that multiple accounts seem to worship.
Lux - you mentioned unlucky777 tonight? Was there a particular reason?
Jackbowers16 asked the exact same question on 24th August 2017. Who's unlucky777 and why do you and Jack ask about him? Curious?
I did some research on a bunch of accounts back in 2017 based on grammar, punctuation, use of the same words etc. It's always easy to spot if someone who posts regularly is all of a sudden posting under a new name. I just never understood why they would do it. It's like the shy people you look after in the pub (or don't look after).
But I did put a group of names together back then that I never shared. What do people think of my findings back then? I only spent an hour on it so probably wrong but I thought these people were the same person and one of the key words linking them was donkey:
Ggerard, jackbowers16, klimehouse, walter, unlucky777, nighthawk, chandler76, thomastank, knowhoww, JB Thomas, BruBrook, OhNoltsJackBoner
I'm either going to upset someone (1 person) or everyone hahaha. Please tell me this is a chat board and it's not only me and another person posting under 20+ names. It's like I'm talking to myself.
On a more serious note:
If any of the above accounts wants to reach out for some support I have lots of contacts that can help with mental health issues. I've suffered from Anxiety myself and know people that work in mental health. It's good to reach out.
Lux - hello my friend. I don't know anyone on here. I'm genuinely an individual poster who comes on here to see what other people think about Barclays. I'm heavily invested, down on paper but confident about the future.
The only account I remember, and people I work with who also use this site is wolf something or Mr Wolf??. He used to speak positive about Barclays and I liked that. I vaguely remember unlucky as a handle on here.
