What a coincidence! Lombard reduced their short yesterday to 0.68%.

The board previously gave guidance on the 3rd of May, on which day the share price closed at 61.9.

Lombard reduces short from 1.26% to 1.16%.

Citadel Advisors LLC reduced their short position from 0.56% to 0.48% last Friday.

Bear in mind that the shorter, who presumably opened most of the short around 49p prior to the trading update, still has to buy back 1.8 million shares. There may be a short squeeze going on.

We-dream and PassRenti - you are mistaken. Business rates are paid on a per-premises basis, so all 1,000 shops will be eligible for the discount. And high street shops are absolutely included. i.e. the above would not be true if either chains or shops were excluded from the discount. Also the wording is the same as the previous discounts that Card Factory was in receipt of.

geentee, normally when a company issues new shares it has to update the market, but where this would be too frequent or onerous a block listing is used, specifically an allocation of shares that is then used in small chunks over time. In this case, the block listing is for long term incentive plans for employees. The block listing review just summarises how many shares were allotted and given out over the last six months. It isn't interesting or meaningful, just a regulatory requirement.

Yes, I think you are right - I think the original 5p charge had to go to charity but the later legislation just made it a suggestion.

Roxbury, the RNS does not say that they increased their holding by 0.1%. The previous notification value is just the position when they last notified the market, in this case October 2020, not the position at the start of the day. Also, 0.1% is 400,000 not 40,000.

On level 2 there is 100k refilling on the bid at 64p.

4k per day times 365 days a year times 1,000 stores equals ~£1.5billion in revenue vs 2019 revenue of £451million. This is either proof that you shouldn't extrapolate from the takings of one store on one day or indicating that revenue is up.

My personal view is that the Card Factory has been exceptionally busy this summer, probably due to pent up demand and people staying in the UK, but the £1.5billion figure is probably too high.
