With hindsight not sure we really were close in Nigeria. We had nominwy to speak of and were embroiled in disputes hidden from us. NNPC were never going to cooperate without brown envelopes and Kola Karim didn't appear to be helpful.
Now things are much different. Essar are said to be moving large funds into Nigeria and have extended our agreement til October. There is a new entity running the show in Nigeria instead of the self serving and corrupt NNPC We are a producer, no longer destitute and Nigeria needs the revenue more than ever.
I believe we are now in with a great chance there

I am surprised this October extension hasn't gained more traction. To me this means Arthur fully expects the Licence to be granted by then. This could have a massive impact on the whole process.
