If demand for raw materials really does mushroom, supply will find it very hard to catch up quickly, and copper could be an excellent case in point: the conductive, malleable and ductile metal is needed in everything from cars to toasters and buildings to robots.’

Essentially, our time has come !

And please note it starts off saying, in other words , that ‘mining doesn’t come cheap’ , and that ‘costs have to be carefully monitored and controlled’

Well we have bucked all trends ! Two mines and counting within a few years to date plus the best shiny metals needed in the globe right now , plus a former CFO turned CEO who measures every single coat meticulously!

FWIW I also think there will be dividends in a few years time potentially.

SD is pro and shareholders in the main will want it.

If he continued to promote his shareholder value line , then there will be dividends at some point. But not in the near term.

The reason I’m still invested here is, after the Heddle debacle and the Newcrest initial saviour play turned Sandeep swindle swoop ; is that SD is a scaffolding expert as opposed to building a house with a pack of cards that collapse without foundation.

Yes we were lucky and guided by Callum expertise also struck gold with Havieron.

Then rescued and then raped by Newcrest with a 30/70 ownership of our find.

But by some miracle plus SDs long term networks , die diligence and vision , we became led by a stalwart financial wizard who’s measured strategies rebuilt the entire story from near collapse to skyscraper potential. And it’s happening now.

So I’m invested for these reasons :

I did shake on that with Shaun in person and held him to his 5 year tenure …but he did look a bit edgy 😂

In fact … a billion ish dollars in the bank ; no debt ; two & a half mines ; a dozen more tenements to explore excavate & potentially extract from and gold and copper trajectories and sadly , though relevant to our trajectory, a mad bad world full of would be dictators amongst the real ones !

SD hatched this legacy play aeons ago and knows the potential and untapped ! Christ ! How lucky are we , the recipients of his vision coming into play?

Other mines have to be built. Paid gazillions for. Given permission for. Then dug out. Decades of planning. And most explorers don’t get to mine their prize if they ever find one amongst the dusters !

We have a Havieron jewel as our crown and prize, but blow me down ; another working, already built out mine and processing mill in Telfer. And there’s a ton left in the barrel and we’re about to hear what that is !!

It’s like have prime chateaubriand as the starter , main and pudding ! What timing to happen upon this ?

No one has said it will run in a straight line over the next 12-60 months ; but it’s all happening now and so far so great this past year or so.

I for one am grateful for Greatland and this gold bull run.

‘GOLD is on track for its best year since the Iranian Revolution in 1979 as geopolitical crises and inflation fears prompt a record rally.

Investors flocked to the precious metal in 2025 owing to its status as a safe haven asset, driving bullion prices up to $4,335 (£3,231) per ounce.

Gold started the year at $2,624 but it has jumped by 65pc over the past 12 months, peaking at an all-time high of $4,519.28 on Boxing Day. It fell over the past week.

Silver also recorded a record-breaking rally, recently hitting $72.88 an ounce – up from $29.61 at the start of last year. Traders have been buying up gold and silver owing to rising global tensions, steering clear of riskier assets amid Donald Trump’s trade war and conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. Demand was also fuelled by lower interest rates in the US, making gold a more attractive proposition as savers generated less on their cash reserves.

Rising demand from central banks also helped to fuel last year’s rally, as they scrambled to increase their reserves of the precious metal as a means of diversifying away from a weaker US dollar.

According to French bank Société Générale, central banks’ share of global gold demand increased from 17pc to around 37pc over the past year.

However, ordinary investors were also bullish, piling into gold by buying units in exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

The World Gold Council recently reported that another $5.3bn flowed into bullion-backed gold ETFs in November. The 5.4pc gain took total ETF gold stocks to a record 3,932 tonnes, worth $530bn.

September alone recorded a 10pc increase in the price of gold as worried investors responded to Israeli strikes on Qatar and the then-looming US government shutdown. It was the strongest monthly increase since June 2016.

Many analysts believe that the price of gold will rise further in 2026. Goldman Sachs predicts it will hit at least $4,900 an ounce, while Kotak Securities expects it to reach the $5,000 mark.

Elsewhere, the FTSE 100 had its best year since 2009, ending 2025 up by 21.5pc. Mining stocks, defence companies and banks were among the best performers as investors sought out safe investments.’
