It looks like there's a lot of short exiting plus plenty of money was sitting on the sidelines waiting to see if the turn around was working.

Im assuming Germany also 'had' to renegotiate these contracts too, because they are about to embark on a huge infrastructure spend which will cause massive disruption to the railways far beyond Mobico's control and unlikely to have been accounted for in the original contracts. Imagine the chaos and disruption in Germany if another operator went to the wall in the middle of all that.

There should be plenty of news coming soon as surely the shortening of these contracts will have a direct adjustment to the onerous contract provisions sitting on the books? £87m in 2024 based on running the full term of the contract until 2033 and now being shortened to 2030.

That will be a signifcant addition to the books too.

Some seriously strong words in that RNS about a "material reset" & "derisking".

Its a pity about the length of some of the loss makers but the gross contract and 2yr extensions guarantee revenue going forward. You would expect those lines to run at around 5% profit which is around industry standards and at a guaranteed profit / revenue. One would also expect those onerous contracts on the loss making lines to return to similar 'gross model' contracts from 2030 onwards when they are up for tender. Serious derisking of the whole German operation.

If Mobico got some compensation on top of all of that it would be brilliant.

The hybrid is due to reset on Feb 26th at around 8.5% which will cost them an additional £20m / year starting in Feb 27.

I think they're intending to get this German issue fixed first and then refinance that at a better rate once the company is back on solid foundations.

Dont forget they are also sitting on around £250m of cash.

What could be a stroke of luck is that Germany are planning on large scale internal spending on infrastructure and defence.

Surely rail has to be something of a backbone to this, its not a good look having companies going bankrupt trying to provide the service.

Seems cheap to me and the price seems cheap compared to similar sized property on RightMove. Head office is17k sqft .

And why would you not rather the money went to the boss instead of some other company? They will be paying for office space no matter who owns it.
