If, like the prophet Noah you have patience in the distress of the flood, Calamity turns aside and the desire of a thousand years comes forth."
Some of the directors have been through the previous boom. So the game behind the game is tough to predict. These are old men that have lived. if a game of chess is been played, then I'm looking and John bryant who hasnt run as yet.
I agree Mannnan. 267 million shares sold and the share price moved up. Doesnt matter what people are saying, forward is forward.
I doubt that Orion will walk away from 125 million USD and 3 years of copper. Also, the financial model from what i remember took into account two yea of copper production beyond the LOM. Copper will still leach through the pad over a 2-3 year period. That's about 10 million USD. Orion is an American company, I don't think that they will run three years in advance and lose 125 million USD when they have the chance to recover about 75 million usd. if major finance houses are predicting the growth of copper and say some of he projections listed here are correct then 8k per ton then you can add another 41 million USD to it. The board also realise that they will require an addition source of income hence kitumba, BerAukus and central ops. If that gets going then the debt can be sorted out. So in terms of the IFRS accounting requirements, the status of the debt must be spelt out in terms of what can be confirmed. BergAukus, Central ops and Kitumba income cannot be confirmed and as such their ability to pay of the loan is limited. Orion like everyone will want their money as well. So the situation cannot be the same for ever. Three years is a long time to source several sources of incomes. With WI, I guess we are going to have to be like Moses at the ocean and be still. Keeping hope alive.
Someone bought 10 million
Probably try to remove Orions leverage. Wondering if the board has turned on Orion.
"Premis"
60 million shares sold. 131 million shares bought. People are buying. John Beyant is conservative. He suspended the share on a false premises in 2015. Perhaps a game of cards to force Orions hand. If orion pulls the loan, suspension and liquidation follows. Orion loses total control from that point. Orion will make sure this mine runs way beyond 2020. Also if copper is going to surge, i doubt that Orion is going to forfeit their loan as well as cash generating asset. Orion will not walk away from 120milliin usd. Someones head in Orion will roll for that. Their only option will be to ride the wave of Dr Copper like the rest of us. This is our journey now, we chose to believe. Keeping hope alive.
"Weatherly will be reviewing the most appropriate management structure for the AIM-listed firm going forward." I wonder if J Bryant will bring back Rod Webster. He may be useful in raising and negotiating capital for the new acquisitions.
Good assessments Pedro57 and TDT. Both ends of the spectrum.
Agreed.
Hi Vanilla Thunder, agreed the market is reacting to potential news. the way around this is for WTi to make a series of positive news announcements over a period of time. WTi to date and understanding the previous position made only the required regulated announcements. The team has however weather that stormy period. The market and WTi's perceived ambition is significantly better than before and therefore they should ride the crest of the wave immediately.
I agree TDT, there are many factors at play. It is difficult for these factors to be in sync or harmony. From what I've seen over the last 5 years as compared to the last 6 months. The factors at play are reducing and hopefully we can have a beautiful rhythm that can grow the company In the end we will be okay. If it is not okay, it is not the end. Keeping hope alive.
Hope you right JennyW.
Good points Boffin. Noted.
Apologies, to the pound. In a land far far away R17.23 to the USD.
Agreed, time will reveal all. Rand is trading at R17.23 to 1 USD. Intresting to see how long this holds up.
I guess, thats is why Craig has been shipped out. In hindsight, Craig' releases indicated he couldnt turn around the C1 costs and control the water. Orion wanted him out cause he had no plan to win. Americans love a winner, unfortunately Craig couldnt win for them. Some Copper mining managers out there have outperformed Craig under similar conditions. So maybe thats why Orion has opted for change. Hopefully, the new person has some DRC/ Zambia experience and can be the game changer we need.

Hi TDT, Copper Mines, that negotiated their long term supply contracts in their favour. I'm not at liberty to disclose them and yes it does place me at a disadvantage to your argument. Orion however did the opposite, negotiated below the spot price. Sword swings both ways. These deals do happen from time to time. Buyers at time make a prediction on the market and go with what they believe is a good deal. As copper moves up and down some investors try and predict and then make a call on it. Going forward into a bullish market, some of these opportunities may exist out there. We have to find them and negotiate in our favour as well as keeping the C1 costs down to a minimum.
