It is hard to miss the positive narrative which has been helping the increase so far. Q1 will have a re-assessment of funds held back for potential defaults and added back into profits as American banks have already done, investment bank will still be flying, increase in card spending coming out of lockdown and help to buy offering 95% mortgages. I would say Q1 results will be the catalyst for the next jump up. I would say you have until then to decide what you will do with your shorts.

Lloyd’s is in a better position to gain from this year’s upturn, than when it came out of the financial crisis and we all know how it shot up then.

It takes a brave person to short UK banks when the roadmap out of lockdown is on track. Lots of pent up demand about to be unleashed. The banks took to much medicine last year and they will feel the benefit this year.

All over 40’s to have first vaccination by Easter. I can’t see any blips on the leaving lockdown horizon.
Lloyd’s will benefit this summer with credit cards going into overdrive and the money will say in UK banks due to staycations.

I can imagine Australia, our commonwealth partner will do very well with British tourists when lockdown opens. Not much more long haul than that.

Barclays is a well rounded bank coming into a time where profits are going to continue to climb. £3+ in the not to distant future is a massive possibility.

If Sunday deliveries take off, RMG could be looking at 800m+ per year profits, this could take the share price to £10.
