Hi Jack reading one of your earlier posts about the footsie running at record highs but back in Dec 1999 the footsie was up at 6950 & 16 years later it finally broke through that level so not a lot to really worry about as we survived then when the market was a lot weaker now the footsie is a lot stronger as we have just seen with unsettled Greece causing the footsie to crash by over 250 points and this didn't really have much effect as its rebound back up to record highs three times, the election might cause the footsie to drop a few points if the Tories don't get back in but the market has shown its strength and it will bounce straight back i would say cash is a bad investment as their a lot of strong sectors in the footsie including retail
Aldi probably dont need to make as much profit because there are no share holders to pay out
These shares are looking at a good price with the upside of today's takeover price north of £13 when Shell where hitting north of £25 before the drop in oil prices last year, I know everything is a gamble but a 100% return might be just worth it
So i was informed the big drop at 4 this morning was something about Japan and yesterday was about Greece again i too got in at 193.6 on MRW and in on BT 439.45 so small gains on both Iv'e been scalping BG & Weir all day £150 ish profit taken + trades left overnight given up on the footsie till Greece & UK elections blow over MRW Daily chart still showing Bollinger & MACD as oversold and pointing at £2.00 plus so will hang in over Easter and look again next week GL
Been busy on a house renovation we brought at auction and still a little cash left over so will be back in here on a day trading basis, been looking at charts this morning and bollinger lines are saying MRW oversold so will be keeping an eye on chart and should be back in sometime today GLA
If it carries on following today's trend it should close between 860 & 870
There is talk that Greece has given all the indices the jitters so this could be another factor for the fall, i have a watchlist of 20 companies and only three are in the blue
Brent $57.4 & still falling added more at 872 thought we may have bottomed out how wrong i was
I think its because poo is down to $58 & falling, can't see any other reason apart from FTSE is below 6800
Tesco were shorted and their SP faltered around 50% but Since the 12th Dec 2014 Tesco SP has recovered 40p in 1 month SBRY 14p and MRW 5p and In the last 2 weeks Tesco has recovered 14p SBRY -2p & MRW -13p so i agree the facts are looking that way its just not looking good
Tesco are already into this they have a photo shop but cant remember name Timpsons engraving & key cutting & sports Direct sports ware this is just the beginning of change these two stores need to move into I think change is needed to move with the times but cant see discounters following so plenty of time to get things right we need Tesco & Sainsbury's to keep good competition within this sector so its not a bad thing to have stopped Tesco from growing to big in the retail sector Morrisons is being tipped by Motley fool for next year and after last year they tipped Tesco & Glaxco and look whats happened they havent tipped SBRY so I'm putting my money here and Tesco and poss Rio tinto once they stop falling I also think Divi will be tight on all three for a couple of years but good share growth GLA
I think no one gets it right all the time that's just the way the market go's but the fact is shorter's are having a dig at SBRY whether there is an impact or not they feel they can make money for their funds the SP's tell you the shorters are gaining ground by the falling sp how far that goes depends on the market no one is going out to destroy SBRY they just make money for their funds using the weakest for easy money if you are long it should make no difference as they will recover in time once they feel they pulled the sp as low as its going then the bulls will buy and sp will recover
The shorter's pick on the weakest they have now finished with Tesco as they failed to overhaul them Aldi & Lidl are immuned as not on the stock market Asda are to strong under the umbrella of Walmart so that only leaves SBRY & MRW best of luck
