So Pole, if you don't like the share or the company, why the f*** are you here?
This BB has really gone to the dogs the past few weeks. If we hit oil it transforms the company, and possibly the region; the 36p per share valuation as mentioned earlier is, I think, reasonable.
We were at 7p in August 2018 long before we were close to drilling. Hard too fathom why SP not moving but it is only a matter of time. Good luck to all LTHs.
I agree with Starchild; the RNS is good.
With regard to Percy-1 there is nothing else to do yet until we know results. But maybe BoD are looking at the long game. If they continue to develop other interests and prospects then they position themselves better for any potential renegotiations with the government; i.e. BPC can't be held to ransom over one well because we have other options in other jurisdictions. So maybe that will add pressure to the government to focus on working with BPC.
To all the environmentalists here; why do you not wish prosperity for your own people, neighbours, family, friends and the generations ahead? What are you really standing for? To prevent progress and economic freedom for the Bahamas and to remain instead as a place that serves rich tourists? Are you really supporting the status quo so that young people can always look out to the water and wonder: What if?
Just curious.
Happy new year and best wishes for 2021 to all the LTHs on here.
To the newly arrived rabble; if you really don't like BPC as a company or the share then why on earth are you still here?
So DavidBrent, why the f*** are you here then?
Unless the application gets accepted prior to the scheduled drilling, there is absolutely no reason that the drill can be delayed.
The cases listed after the 18th are those which have already begun. It looks like the 18th is the final date in this sitting for new cases to be heard.
Minnis is merely hedging his bets. He says he's against oil drilling so that should anything go wrong he can't be held responsible. On the other hand when BPC hit oil he can then make the case that he's sceptical but because of the economic potential he will back oil under strict regulation. He gets to play the 'man of the people' both on principle and economic pragmatism. Good old politicians!
So why weren't all these arguments made in February rather than right at the last minute?
If they're so geopolitically important.
So they're not fussed on cars or indeed electricity in general then?
This is a defining moment for the Bahamas. If they allow the application to succeed and drilling is delayed (or even cancelled) then there is no way that anyone could ever have faith that a prospective drill would ever be allowed to proceed; and why would anyone invest in a drilling company when you will never be sure that the drill will happen, no matter how many years you have been waiting and how many legal hoops you have jumped through. If the Bahamian legislation is serious about bringing economic transformation then it is right now they have to demonstrate that.
Or be held to ransom by a bunch of activists. For what?
There has always been just one really critical point to BPC: Drilling for oil and (hopefully) finding it.
We are coming out of Covid; heading towards Christmas and, finally, finally, we are going to drill.
That's all that matters; we hit oil and many lives get changed. Exciting times ahead.
Starchild,
Best post on here for a long time. take a bow.
Thanks, it's just a few stocks I deal in. Used to get it free with Barclays but haven't had it for a while. I had read that IG Index was good.
Opinions please!
What's the best trading platform for level II data?
Garbage. I'm a LTH and this wilt close to three figures by Christmas. Go check the history.
Been invested since 2011; this is way undervalued at the minute.
We're going to drill in a few short months; this will go back to the levels of 2018 and the exclusivity agreement.
8p by end of June
A few weeks delay here is nothing. All the LTHs know that. The oil prospects haven't changed because of coronavirus, yet the SP is way down. This is a time to buy here. Not panic.
There won't be an RNS at 11am other than price monitoring extension; any news it's 7am.
