MJB. I think that all bets are off when it comes to predicting what rates will do. Yes, in the past, governments have been able to inflate away debt then their control mechanism kicks in. However, the past in this case won’t inform the future due to the unprecedented times so who knows what will happen, certainly not us and certainly not the central banks. As to the timescales of any of this, they too are out of the window and there’s simply no point in speculating or trying to second guess. What will be will be and there are very many scenarios. Me? I’m just sitting tight on my FTSE100 stocks until dividends begin to be paid again and also my AIM stocks until the price is right. Tough economic times are ahead
