Gas tanks 4 ft high are quite normal on caravan/mobile home/static caravan sites all around the uk,i have never seen a military escort, they use a open backed truck to transport these on english/uk roads day and night. as long as they are chained upright and transported and stored and used in this manor they are safe.useually there will be 2 of these in use when 1 is empty the changeover valve then lets gas from 2nd bottle to be used, the owner then orders a spare bottle that is delivered and exchanged over, this is 2 to 4 times a year for a average mobile home,2 or 3 bedroom size occupied 365 days a year, the gas is heavier than air and if it leaks will go to ground level so not as safe as natural gas being lighter than air that floats upwards useually into the atmosphere,it goes bang when confined to a space and a spark or match lites the gas,if its in a explosive limit of 5 to 15 percent then explodes rather than a flash of ignited gas. the uk has been useing natural gas since 1970 and most of the 30 million houses are still here and havnt exploded and so far after 40 yrs of driving on uk roads with high pressure gas pipes under the rd and pavement im also still here, i think you will find countries like india use a similar situation as most villiages are not connected to mains gas ,(1 billion population)and bottled cng or lpg is also used in there homes.and the rickshaws also can run on cng in terrible traffic conditions and rarely explode. if you want to convert a older car to gas/lpg you can also do this in the uk quiet legally and safely, the engine starts on petrol and when warmed up transfers to lpg automatically and you just put a lpg sticker on the vechicle to advise its duel fuel,so there,,,
