Im sure most people would of heard of fort knox, the usa,s famous gold reserve bank on a army base,made famous in the 007 bond film goldfinger. well the usa also has a Helium depository,, at Amarillo in texas, they cool the helium down to minus 270 degree celsius and inject it back underground.they are close to helium rich areas, and the NATURAL GEOLOGY, (this is the only way to store helium as it always escapes),keeps it there,using a haylite SALT LAYER.

How thick are our salt layers?? if they hold back helium then natural gas (ch4) has got no chance of escape....

Im just looking at some slides/pictures of a gas well and helium trapped underground, from Geology.com, shows high spots with helium trapped under a perfect seal, A SALT SEAL, it also states the helium is a by product of NATURAL GAS, formed by the radioactive decay of heavy elements in the earths crust like Uranium and Thorium, ONLY found in some natural gas fields where the gas,s formed together, AND capped by impermeable rock.. granite is very hard, so upto 10km thick of it would seem ideal... wasnt there a famous movie title.. "what lies beneath"
