Possibly, it has been mentioned before. The market is really nervous. All those stock market crashes of old are more commonly found loitering, and waiting to rob, at this time of year. I think we have another 12 months before the whole thing goes...BANG! (note the correct use of the exclamation mark :-)). Actions in the US should see us survive for another 12 months. Asian currency devalution is not good, debt is out of control and Italy holds the touch paper. Then I am predicting a 40% crash on the general market. There we go, Oldie has stuck his neck out. Actually, I can't believe it [the market] has kept going this long. Not resolving the 2008 mess has created, and left, a right old pile of poo. Good morning all ha ha.

Interesting points Bolgas. I don't necessarily disagree. However, I could produce sources from non-left leaning media (both your sources are left leaning and have green agendas) that contradict those sources. There is plenty of oil, plenty. Tech is making it easier and cheaper to access it too. Peak oil, yeah right. The Saudi empire is moving from oil not just due to supply but for geo-political reasons. For one, US reserves are significant. Do you not think it odd that the US and others have used up middle eastern oil for the last 45 years whilst leaving their own reserves untouched? I think the House of Said has finally seen the light and are worried. In terms of green energy, hmmm. The jury is out on that one. Anyone tried repairing wind farms out at sea in a storm or a long winter? Time will tell. Also, humans like to drive. I mean drive, not be buzzed around. That is a hurdle too, although easily over come by economics. Anyway, copper is something we (humans) need, so all is well.

Bolgas. Off topic a touch, how do you propose charging all these electric cars in inner city areas where people can't park their cars anywhere near their property? I wonder how long until someone tripped over a charging cable and sued? Terraces? Rows of them. Flats? Blocks of them. Large old housing stock converted in multi occupancy? Who will pay for the infrastructure? Where will HM Inland Revenue make up for this loss in fuel duty? Could that be why the subsidies are coming down? Someone finally turned a switch on in a civil servants brain? I be interested to see how our aging grid, and rapidly diminishing power network, charges all these electric cars in populated cities on snowy and frosty winters night, or several nights. Let's not forget that oil company profits end up in quite a few pension funds, and that their industrial might will keep oil and gas going as our number one fuel for a while yet. Brum brum. Pipe dream for now I feel. Fear not, we need copper for so much more that EV's....thankfully.

Olderandwiser....not just the infrastructure, we haven't got sufficient grid space and power output i.e we need more power stations or everyone charges at non-peak times, and even then we don't have enough capacity.
