Given the track record and the prospects here, I don't think there should be a discount to nav at all. In a couple of years, I wouldn't be surprised to see these shares trading at a premium to nav.
Manfor, you are a total hypocrite. I see from your posting history that you are invested in Imperial, a tobacco company.
I am an investor. I have invested here to make money. Nobody should make investment decisions based on emotion. I know what it is to be dirt poor. Never again.
Manfor, the Russians will not sign any peace deal unless it includes an immediate end to all sanctions . They will not allow themselves to be put into a worse position than they were before the war.
Why would Russia sign a peace deal which leaves them in a worse position than before the war? Quite simply, they won't.
One of the conditions that the Russians would demand for signing a peace deal would be the immediate lifting of all sanctions.
If jrs was actually liquidated, it would only happen after a peace deal was signed and sanctions were lifted. There would then be a huge return for anybody who buys jrs shares now.
Only 2 minutes to hit your target of £2.85, Maverick.
Polymetal shares are trading at over 700p on Moscow stock exchange.
The Moscow stock exchange was closed on the Monday after the start of the war. So it had already fallen for two trading days before it was closed.
The published nav is artificially low because there is no real market for Russian shares right now. Most of the shares have been written down to effectively nothing. The last published nav when the Russian stock market was still open was 479p. When the Russian stock market reopens, a more realistic nav will be published.
There are two articles about cannabis. The one in the Sunday Times is very pessimistic about the prospects for the medical cannabis market in Britain. However, I have noticed that a poster on the advfn site is claiming that the article is good news for seed. Utterly delusional.
I have just bought more shares at 372p. The discount is now 31% which I regard as crazy given that I expect the nav to rise further at the next quarterly valuation. I didn't think that I would get the opportunity to top up at this level. Mr. Market is extremely depressed at the moment.
Disastrous update. I've had enough of this company's jam tomorrow promises. I'm out.
The shares shouldn't be at a discount at all. Given the very conservative valuation of their investments, a case could easily be made for the shares to trade at a premium to nav.
I think the reported nav is still far too high. There are a lot of unquoted investments which have yet to be written down to their true value , i.e. zero. I expect the share price to continue to fall.
Mysteron, many moons ago, I had shares in this company. Why don't you take the time to read the posts here for the last year? The posts about Fastbase will be very illuminating. I occasionally pop in here to see what's happening. It's like watching a train crash; it's very hard to take your eyes off it.
The mugs who bought this morning have allowed people to get out of this dog of a share.
Liquid1, what is the source for your quotation on third party fundraising?
If you look at my posting history, you can see that I have been a holder for quite some time. I have been very happy indeed with the rise and I have taken full advantage of it. to sell all of my shares this morning. Best of luck if you are still holding after such a sharp rise. You are obviously a lot braver than me!
