It is very likely there will be a barrage of people selling on spud news which is imminent.
Also recent years we have seen many oilers sp gradually going down after the spud by 10-20%. Take recent example of ECO was trading heathy 80-90p prior spud then for 40days during drill went down to 65p. I see more the same here unfortunately. and you have the naysayers who boast what happened to JOG which approaisal was an appraisal well that came dry
Nothing is certain only what you see on paper. Market are crap so people are hesitant to do anything and guess what you can’t blame them

I'm afraid II's are reducing their exposure in ALL markets no matter their position, that is why we have seen II's declaring reduced holdings. Remember like all of us, they have hefty paper profit from 500/600p. With current market look which looks grimmer as each day goes by, everybody is locking in their cash until there is some level certainty. This certainty is here to stay as long as Trump and Boris stays in power. If they go, there will be a period of uncertainty with new govt whoever it may be before any tick up, which many predict in 2021 H2.

Relating to RRE, Exxon are looking to leave N-Sea for political environment where they can control. so RRE will be looking to buy these I presume? but imo there will more sellers till Aug/Sept for the above paragraph reasons.

PM, ECO has great relationship with their partners ,esp TLW. Total sold their interest to Qatar for "you scratch my back and I will scratch yours" type of deal for a different asset. TLW wants to prove to their shareholders that the company is holding SH value by finding a truly transformational find for years to come which would keep BHs and financiers happy. In that interest, my opinion is that they would strike a deal with ECO for the remaining 15% to get additional exposure, just like Exxon with Liza, to fully develop and bring in monetary gains for years to come.

I agree majors would want to explore other fields to see extent, hence we would see Joe drilled. Like Gil said they have more than 12 identified high target zones. TLW will drill and tap as much as they can in the next 12months and tie to back to Jehtro-1. I see ECO selling Guyana to TLW for handsome price to focus on Namibia. Gil has made it clear once again that ECO believes Namibia could be the next Guyana type of find - this is also supported by majors already there and taking bigger position as we speak.

personally happy to see pis moving on to chase ECO like rise but sit like a duck to fully appreciate here.
