Why have we not seen a TR1 for the placing shares so far? It’s procedure to inform the company within two working days of a major holding. With the placing accounting for 20% of the total shares in issue, someone must have breached the threshold for a tr1

From prior experience this usually come out the day the placing shares hit the market or even the next trading day.

Just seems a bit strange why there is a delay

Forward selling is done by the Market Makers. The sell something they don’t technically have, this is known as short selling. They then match what they have sold over the past week with the placing stock once it is available.

It’s like me selling you something online that is out of stock at the time you place the order. But I know I can fulfill the order in a few days once the supplier has sent me more stock.

Technically the MMs will be short at the minute but the shortfall will be made up tomorrow once the placing shares can be traded

Forward selling of placing shares is normal. It happens all the time. The MMs basically short sell knowing that they will be credited with the placing shares within a week or so
