Still baffles me why RM collect the subs for the union, I seem to remember some years ago before a dispute that RM were going to stop collecting the subs and we would have to pay by direct debit, dispute got sorted and never heard anything else.
Yes I have seen a rep sacked on the spot, for thumping a colleague, he was bang to rights. After 33 years I am glad to be out of it, I invested some of my pension lump sum into rm shares for the divi to enhance my pension, if you work at the royal I use to drop of there.
Sadly as I have said in a previous post, a union as big as the cwu has wages, pensions, buildings cost etc, so it is a business as well with its income from the members. I worked out that I lost about £10k on my finale salary pension, yet there was nothing done by the union when royalmail stopped this, maybe no one was losing their job?
Got to laugh at cwu trying to flex its muscle, when they know they are only exist because of royalmail employing so many posties, if royalmail finished how would the cwu be able to pay their 100 + staff their pay, pensions etc, this will be sorted out over a pub lunch.
