A good please to start would be Aleksandr Fersman, responsible for the majority of the 1920’s exploration work, the British Geological Society, who hold records on the region and Fersman’s exploration work including estimates of what was in the ground, and records of what was extracted during the 30’s. Mindat is a good site to look at, Russian open source mining records for the region, and another Russian site Rosgeo is a good source. Also PM price data over the last 5 years. There is nothing available open source which provides details of our specific licence areas.

The two companies set by the state from 1919 onwards definitely got the good stuff, there is plenty of info available on line about how much they extracted and it’s value, compared to original estimates of what was actually in the ground within the Region as a whole, after that some very mixed results, and my view is that the £5 mil of concentrate estimate was before assessment, the £3 mil reduced valuation was post assessment.

Spikey you are right, there is the issue of asset value. The Bod simply devalued the extracted concentrate from £5 mil to £3 mil but have never offered an explanation.
