Oil spiked a few minutes ahead of the close after Algeria confirmed that the OPEC+ emergency meeting will discuss an output cut of 10 million barrels per day. A spokeswoman for Russian energy ministry said the nation will commit to cuts based on its proportion of the total production.

Simply don't know, but the oil price has already risen notably since Trump's tweets, so it's important they don't underwhelm.

Strange really, because any competent investor would have fully researched a company before investing... apparently you didn't... or the past didn't matter...

As an investor, I am interested in future prospects and the risk/reward ratio (ie. the lower the price, the more attractive the potential reward becomes).

Think we've moved into a kind of news blackout period, hasiba, so not expecting to hear much more now until the OPEC+ meeting itself tomorrow (apart from speculative pieces, of course).

Not on Reuters, hasiba, where it has been rather quiet today.

On Bloomberg, they've basically been updating the main article from time to time, but, no, nothing much new there either.

Could mean negotiations between Saudi Arabia and Russia have entered a serious stage where leaks are not encouraged!

... and still all we hear are promises... promises... PROMISES... of future meaningful profit generation!?!?!

As an ex-investor in ANGS, you're not obliged to hear anything at all, YL. If you do continue to hear about the company, it's because you choose to do so.

If, at any stage, an II wants to pick up a line of stock, they know where they can apply!

Think it's the statement at the bottom that is right, think they found the form confusing to complete.

I don't think a Brent price of $45-55 is achievable at the present time: that would require the world to go back to work pretty quickly, which doesn't look too likely (but we can always hope).
There are so many different views as to the current over-supply of oil, ranging between about 15m bopd at the bottom to 35m bopd at the top.
I am just waiting to see what OPEC+ and Friday's G20 meeting can produce, at the moment.
