Why did they have "nowt as suspension"?

In part because of their capital expenditure.

In saying "they used the remaining monies from that generous loan to fund their capex during that period", you've answered a different question, where did their total funds come from? (that is, not just from their revenue).

I also know that UKOG took advantage of the rise in their share price to raise a total of a bit more than £5m, a pretty phenomenal achievement for a company whose market cap had, at one stage, slipped below £1m.

I remember that UKOG quadrupled on the day of its return from suspension, on the announcement of an MOU with National Gas, (following a quick-fire series of raises, it has since subsided back to its price when suspended).

Without the terms of the debt restructuring, it isn't really possible to forecast ANGS's price on the resumption of trading but we can all see that the principal stakeholders, including the company's lender, have devoted a great deal of time to ensuring trading in the stock does resume.
