If we take Snowdon Mining Consultants' 2012 figure of 500,000 ounces in and around Clogau (a figure used in press articles on Alba in the past), then that gives us a gross $ amount of $1.3bn, before extraction costs but before, also, any premium for Welsh gold.

Agreed, too, ZYX098, that any funding for Portland will be ring-fenced.

The hope is that any such announcement will provide a significant boost to the share price and thereby facilitate future fund raising for other projects.

It's not yet clear, ZYX098, agreed, but it could be UKOG are looking to combine news about Broadford Bridge with other news.

It was very recently they inserted geothermal energy into the opening paragraph of their home page:

UK Oil & Gas Plc (“UKOG”) is an energy company, originally focused upon oil and gas exploration and production in the UK and international onshore sectors, but more recently spearheading hydrogen gas storage opportunities in Dorset and Yorkshire and investigating the geothermal energy space in the UK.

... But he (Star Energy's CEO, Ross Glover) said government plans to change the energy profits levy would make the company’s transition to geothermal more difficult.

The levy has been extended for a year to the end of March 2030, the tax rate will rise in November 2024 from 35% to 38% and the 29% investment allowance will be abolished.

Mr Glover said this would:

“curtail our profits, limiting investment into the transition and drive us to look for business opportunities in other jurisdictions reducing the investment we make into the UK. These changes are counter-productive, leaving the UK less able to transition, more dependent on energy from other countries and, in the short to medium term, more exposed to international energy price volatility.”

You mention "the shares very sharp rise" - the last time this share had a sharp rise was when the term Gatwick Gusher hit the headlines and the share spiked at around 10p/11p - what a payday that was !!!!!!!

The last time the share price had a very sharp rise was in July of this year, following the general election, when it rose from about 0.015p to more than 0.12p, ie multiplied by more than 8x, in a matter of days.

I am not going to scroll through your past posts but the reason I mention shorting is because I think of you as one of the posters who was forecasting the imminent demise of UKOG, before the general election and the share's very sharp rise.

If my memory has failed me, then I apologise.

You will only be better off trading it if you get the direction of your trade right.

There is virtually no quicker way to lose money than to be short when a stock is taking off.

The Adrian derampers always complain about and have banned.

At 0.043p, market cap is £4.8m (11.14bn shares in issue).

Before 1p, let's see the share price rise back to 0.1p (market cap of £11.14m, then appreciate to 0.2p (market cap of £22.28m).
