The next focusIR Investor Webinar takes places on 14th May with guest speakers from Blue Whale Growth Fund, Taseko Mines, Kavango Resources and CQS Natural Resources fund. Please register here.
Following his Northern success he will have shot himself in both of them if he blocks guarantees on SM borrowing. Missing out on a future tax take on that scale would be ludicrous. Boris is an optimist so let us hope!
Here we go- Corbyn pledges power to the north! Nationalise SM for 3p per share. This will put the evil capitalists like us in their place. New government management will totally muck up the project and leave a massive public debt to fill in the hole!
Heathrow, Wheal Jane, TSR2, Crossrail, Channel Tunnel, HS2. Prevarication, delay, overspend, failure. Now look at SM; Government involvement in planning - prevarication and delay, then freedom and the amazing and rapid engineering progress with just the tunnel problem so far. Let us all hope that we can show government just how to manage a major project without their help!
Comment on Sirius by Martin Vander Weyer in this week’s Spectator. He outlines the current situation that we all know too well but supports Sirius on its organic and environmental potential and asks if Greta Thunberg should endorse it to break the financial deadlock! Chance would be a fine thing!
This is a campaign by 33 Newspapers in the north to boost government interest. Has anyone heard of it or has it just died with the Northern Powerhouse?
I agree that the bond take up is unlikely to move the share price up very much. My own feeling is that real movement will take another year. I would be delighted to be proven wrong though!
Reported this morning that a move towards bonds is likely in the current market uncertainty. Good news for us
Remember that Jaguar is Indian but SM is just unfortunately ‘up North’
I see that in order to save money, the government has
privatised the NP. It is now called SIRIUS MINERALS!
Once again our useless ‘leadership’ has totally failed
to respond to fantastic opportunity and forced SXX to
take a more expensive financial source. This route keeps
this amazing project on time. The initiative and courage of the board
are quite fantastic. SXX are also to be congratulated on their
videos of progress. Meanwhile of course the current share price has
nothing to do with the actual situation - the market is mainly a gambling den while
we patiently wait for the holes in the ground to get bigger!
The production of veg underground is now a reality so now as the mine progresses the worked out areas can be used with no shortage of fertiliser!
Thank you very much Verulam. Real info makes such a change from speculation!
Exactly right GB. May’s body language indicated that she really had other things on her mind. I am very positive about the financing situation. The scent of money will be when that shaft in well through the main geological hazards. Just bought a few more at 20.09
Thank you Myo for returning sanity to this chat room!
Asked about guarantees for Sirius, Teresa May said she had met CF in China, that the thing was commercially sensetive and showed little real enthusiasm. She must GO! ,,
I have been invested here for 5 years. In simple terms in my own opinion, this is still a speculation of moderate risk offset by very competent management, sound progress and likely rich rewards. It is a long haul and during the boredom between news releases, many posters have little to do but try to influence others or make wild forecasts. Attitude to risk is a very personal thing. I am happy where I am, otherwise I would not be a shareholder.
You havn’t been out of bed since 2014 then!
I trust that the”Septic Tank” adverts on this BB do not describe the share future! Happy New Year to all!
I am heavily into SXX and personally consider it has now become a moderate risk investment with very possible high returns. Poly4 is an excellent fertiliser often described as ‘organic’ but it is potassium, calcium, magnesium hydrous sulphate and contains no carbon. It is a product of nature but not of live nature. Paradoxically crude oil is organic for it contains carbon and is the product of live organisms. The term organic today seems deemed to cover all things that are harmless to the environment. Poly4 must be used with the same care and skill as any fertiliser if it is not to do damage. It remains, however, particularly with its pH neutrality, an excellent and revolutionary product. Wood smith has a huge advantage in that almost all the mined material is the product, unlike Drakelands which has been driven into administration trying to win a tiny percentage of tungsten from rotten soft granite. Good luck all
I wonder why?
I should add that government supported Rio Tinto to boost employment in Cornwall. I went down it at that time - what a mess of old workings! A big investment in froth floatation. Then tin prices bombed. SXX is a very different animal and failure looks very remote indeed. Of course the government never back a winner, they just spend our money on losers!
