Basically I'm out of my depth, only have a small holding but thought that if I went ahead with the RI it would bring down my average nicely. Can I now confirm that I was wrong and should have passed up the opportunity and let HL sell them on my behalf straight away? Are the rights issue shares worth less now? Cheers.
hello all, I've never experienced a rights issue before, can anyone advise on what the process will be and what action will need to be taken. I imagine its best to go ahead and buy the shares at a discount but how do you do it, would my dealing platform (hargreaves) make the steps clear? Thanks.
Ok, thanks for that, so your "in the money" now then! Yeah do you recommend a platform and are options available to demo the actual prices that are available in the market? If so does that give an insight into where the market see prices going? Cheers
Hello, I don't hold these shares but am watching with interest for a sub 50 buy in. I note you think the ftse will drop, but the ftse 100 are global players and have faired better than expected due to the £ weakening in general. Why do you think it will drop? I'm not arguing just keen to understand different view points.
Ok granted, is the bed and breakfast a tax thing? All my transactions done within ISA but I do get clobbered with the dealing fees and stamp duty. Over all I'm quite please, sold for 225 ish and bought for 207 ish. Cheers
Thanks, that's what I thought, so if one believes the share to be moving up, is my strategy of selling pre ex div to buy back in at the lower price right, I have probably been able to buy more shares today than I would have on the 3rd of Sept. Cheers.
Hello All, I have a question relating to the dividend. If you opt for receiving shares rather than cash, do the shares get awarded at the market price on the payment date? I sold yesterday and bought back just now as I believe the share will rise so wanted to buy in at what I hope will be a cheaper price today than in a couple of months. Cheers.
I can't wait for the next option scheme if there is one, it's a win win on all levels, there was even a fail same mechanism that if you opted to sell and the share dropped below the option price it would not execute and you could have your money back. Not to mention it comes out of pre tax earnings. I can't catch my breath!
A good deal for the postman is probably a bad deal for the shareholder.
I thought we were already on a 38 hour week? In our office we have long and short days and I can never remember the exact finish time.
I sold mine today online. But whilst on the phone it stated on one if the options that if you opted to sell immediately the price achieved was £4.23 or there abouts.
Probably caused by options price of 360 being executed. Hopefully!
