Yes us posties did get awarded shares but many sold them fairly quickly. You have to remember the demographic here, many posties ended up cashing them in to pay for things like holidays, clear credit cards, decorate the house etc. Most people who invest in the stock market are investing money they don't necessarily need in the next 5 years. Not many even do the share save scheme because we are actually not that well paid so don't have much to spare. I was pleased to get the special dividend but I did feel sorry for my mates at work who got nothing despite being part of the reason the div could be paid. My feeling at work is that people are realistic and reasonable and are not expecting an inflation busting pay rise, but something more reasonable than what's been on offer so far.
Price of oil
I cant believe there hasn't been any corrections, I've never seen a share go up with such velocity, keep expecting a big sell off, meanwhile my BP. holdings are doing nothing!
Ballot papers went out yesterday and you can vote online, maybe the numbers of yes votes has been leaked. Our office has a few loud vote no people but I expect the silent majority are vote yes people. That's my take on todays price action. I believe rmg will be a much more relevant company in a post covid world and see no reason why we couldn't test new highs. I wanted to sell a tranch at £4 but if it holds today I might be encouraged to hold.

The info from the charts Is helpfull for sure but in no way can it account for macro or geopolitical events. I still appreciate when people share the chart stuff though because I don't have that info.
Does BP. adr just carry on from the uk closing price? So if its up there 6% is that additional to the closing price in London or just a replication of todays performance and not really a consideration?
Do we put this uptick down to the Democrats winning control of the house, seems strange that the ftse would respond so strongly when the European Bourses and the Dow haven't. Sure there all up but massive for the ftse.
What do people think will happen to the op and in turn bp. If this new variant of covid turns up in the US, Biden will be more likely to order a lock down and demand would drop. Obviously I'm happy today but I wouldn't count my chickens just yet.
This might have something to do with it.

Be honest everyone, who was logged in and on the trade button on the off chance!
Surely it would have traded at that price across the pond but its down. Don't get your hopes up, BP will never fail to dissapoint!
Thats BP for you, my patience is wearing thin!
Down in the US now, typical, always feel we miss out on the uptick.
Thanks for insights as to why oil may rise, I agree with the green agenda overdone and decommissioning line of thinking. As for crypto, as a novice who only has a hargreaves account is there a way to gain exposure without having to set up other accounts and wallets ect? all I do is in an isa. Tbh I mostly deal in funds but have lloy and bp. Am bullish uk now trade deal has been agreed but have two concerns holding me back. The US must be in a bubble so if it bursts we will get dragged down regardless and this new strain. Hopefully the vac will take care of new strains but the us worries me.
So does that mean own assets not cash? Are you talking about this so called 70year cycle thats coming to an end to do with fiat currency?
Hello, can any of the learned contributors give a brief explanation as to why a commodity supercycle might happen , and within that why oil would join in with that . I can see why it would rise from here to normal levels but with green headwinds would the pressure not still be downwards? Thanks in advance, im in BP so it matters for my long term plan. Cheers.
Thanks for reply, I agree re dow, all the technical analysis in the world is out the window if the dow takes a reality check. I want £4 quickly so I can sell my unconditional shares, the rest are in the lap of the gods!
