What is going on with the spread on this share?

Dunno Nick it’s pretty bad form having your shares suspended until further notice - lot of people including myself have had bad experiences with share disappearing.

This is a strafe one and looks dodgy with large share sales going through near close yesterday - that needs investigating. Agree it’s a buying opportunity but not for the feint hearted. I’m eating for USA to open before considering it as it could potentially have a big drop when the yanks wake up.

It's enough for me to reduce my stake a little but I'll buy back in if it falls a bit more

Guess that’s the trouble with paying a decent dividend the drop after ex dividend is often bigger than the dividend. Weird choice of dates wouldn’t it have been better having the ex dividend after the budget to tempt people to hold?

Shouldnt they be dropping around now? It would be nice if they had some kind of financial calandar? They like to keep investors in the dark don't they?

Fair enough. It is a happy day. I expect the rise still to be a little choppy but a rise I do expect. I will be thinning out my stake along the way and buying more on any drops. It won’t be a straight line up thats for sure

There is and has always been very very little shorting activity going on with serica energy. The rise has nothing to do with “shorts closing out” and everything to do with the market starting to realise how undervalued and healthy this company is even in the worst case scenario going forward

This company is healthy in the medium term even in the worst possible budget outcome - Even under those circumstances the share price is massively undervalued - with a more favourable outcome and gas/oil prices this is a fantastic investment opportunity.

One thing is very clear - the share price hughely undervalues the company. This is a strong buy and hold.

Sold all my short term bonds to add more here at 113p - I can’t really see a downside here after that report and the divi of 9p payable in November.

Should be a fairly easy climb down for the government - low energy prices = no windfall = no windfall tax. The plot thickens.

My intention was to create a little counter hysteria for my own amusement - not necessarily as a troll just as a counterweight to try and bring us back to level and hopefully get on with talking about how much money we are going to lose with our Serica shares without blaming hippies or youngsters or Guardian readers or Bill Gates or whatever.

Your wages paid for your living expenses and your wife didnt need to work - you had affordable housing - Prices were in line with wages - You basically had everything were paid a wage you could liveon meanwhile profiting massively off house prices going up tenfold. Oh and your assumptions are wrong by the way i do earn a decent living and I was brought up in a council house in the council house in the late 70s/80s now earning slightly over 100k a year and dont gruimble about all the tax I pay back even though Ive covered my costs 100s of time over. I benefited from free further education, housing benefit and child benefit all things you moaning farts want to take away. I have made the right assumptions about you people I would put my whol protfolio on it, Just "me me me" and "more more more" you are everywhere. Its all the immigrants fault! Even though they pay way more into the coffers than they have ever taken out. Why should we pay for these lazy youngsters! God change the record. You arent fooling anyone with your whining.

You haven’t benefited hugely by Maggie selling off the council houses (so there are none for this generation) and rising house prices? Anyway the responses pretty much make my point for me. Honestly its like reading a Daily mail comments section. Its getting more and more ridiculous every day. Sorry if you "geniuses" who had every benefit under the sun when you were growing up and benefited from a huge gain in house prices now have to give a little back. You were the luckiest and most pampered generation in human history you never had to fight a war and you were handed everything on a plate. Now you moan about frankly giving very litte back to the first generation in history that will be far worse off than their predecessors. Have a look at yourselves you didnt "earn" your money you benefited from the longest period of pampering in human history. As a result you are probably the most whiney, self-centred and entitled generation ever to walk this earth. If you think this government are socialists you need to look it up in a diary. They have just voted down an increase on the cap for child benefit for christ sake. They dont even priotise poor children. The world will be a better place when your generation finally stop bleeding it dry.
