I use a charting package and I saw that for charts with very short time intervals, 4806 is indeed shown. However for longer time intervals the day's high is 4251. I suspect the share went into auction for a while. The charting packages and the trading platforms show the highest and lowest price at the auction. One often sees these wide ranging spreads at the open after the announcement of

very good or very bad news.

Initial market reaction a good opportunity to get in at lower levels. No change in FY expectations is the key.

I am surprised the share price has fallen more.

There will be a kitchen sink moment. Barder will have to be paid off. Clearly no capital raise was possible with Barder still in place. The previous CFO was right. He knew that it would go nowhere with Barder i/c. Await financial results before committing any funds. Now we have three weeks before the new man starts.

The criteria used for determing whether something is a sale or buy are not foolproof. However this morning's price looked low against the two offers and the next timeline.

Very much suspect that the CFO who had to go had looked under a few stones and didn't like what he saw. External investigation put a few noses out of joint and his departure was prompted by retaliation within the organisation. It's the CFO before that who should be in the dock along with the CEO.

They sold a further 5.7 million yesterday. Someone bought them.

It is possible that the offer is announced after close of trading on the 17th but before 5pm resulting in an uncomfortable Easter break for shareholders. It also reduces the period to April 30th when suspension will kick in.

Other alternatives are a £450m rights issue at 20p. a share. From a bad sleeper.

Thanks for doing the research. Strange that there aro no RNSs on this site for Hargreaves and HBOS on March 3rd. Do the mutual funds not have a requirement to declare their position if it's over one per cent, because the dates shown for the latest declaration are well before the announcement of Feb 24th?

I don't recall seeing any declarations by St. James's Place since February 25th. Is their holding below the one per cent threshhold?

The PUSU timeline is Thursday 17th April. Trading in WG's shares will be suspended at the end of April if accounts for ye 31.12.24 are not filed by that date
