Yes, Gold spot is now 50% higher (which is different to 'half today's value' - I'm sure you can work out the difference between those statements), but it is copper that forms the bulk of Cascabel's PFS.

It was anticpation of the PFS, and speculation on Porvenir MRE and potentially holding another Tier 1, that resulted in the 40p+

That's right addicknt. Difficult to recruit a decent chairman after announcing a strategic review that may result in a quick sale or completely different strategic direction. And of course this was the start of cost-cutting; not compatible with recruiting a new Chair.

I'm reminded we don't know if there was any last minute hiccup on a potential deal, or a late realisation that 'turnkey' for buyers meant a much later stage than Solgold hoped.

However, we can agree that 15 months suggests Solgold aren't quite as dynamic as they need to be.

The trouble with referencing previous SOLG updates is that after a while SOLG just push them out further.

I imagine Scott looks back at his statements of "a culture of non-performance in the corporate office" and "the delays are inexcusable" with a wry smile.

Given Solgold aren't on the Aquis exchange, not sure I follow how they can be traded there?

Addicknt, Scott's comments since CIPA seem to suggest he is comfortable with the protections offered within the EA.

But, he's not provided clarity why - e.g. what is/isn't included.

I suspect things aren't quite as smooth as he makes out. Given missed commitments under original IPA (some would argue due to items outside of Solgold control, e.g. delays obtaining permits and approvals). But also concerns around slow pace of studies/development and wider regional exploration.

Right next door? Chancay is c1,900km away from Cascabel.

Esmeraldas port is c300km away. And that's by road, shorter if a direct pipeline is constructed.

Morning addicknt. I'd certainly prefer Solgold had (i) met their commitments under the original IPA; (ii) a ratified CIPA.

I know Scott has suggested the EA provides the same guarantees. But if so, why is the CIPA taking so long? It was announced 11 months ago.

P.S. this is still low volume. Those 'large' trades are likely just 'risk-off' trades by larger retail holders to reduce exposure to election news.

Valuestone bought c12million shares in Nov-20 (via Gemstone 102 Ltd, a related party to the Valuestone Global Resources Fund).

Valuestone also participated in the May-21 placing.

Plenty of other investment entities within the Jiangxi Copper group, although unclear which would need to be flagged as 'related-party' trades.

John Liu (Solgold Director) is key here if anything is going on. Previously a partner at Valuestone Advisors for mining investments, and an advisor at Jiangxi Copper Corp for its overseas M&A projects. I wonder what he has been up to in the 12 months since joining.

Rodney - you mentioned the Hurricane Energy takeover and legal issues previously. I don't see the similarities with position of Solgold, but certainly don't want to be wrong about that.

As RedRoger says, Nick would presumably defend for value. (What could they offer him in any dodgy deal without it being blatantly criminal).
