Got the news we have all been waiting for...will top-up next week...prospects and sp will rise into October and beyond...pfc changes it's name to something less eco-offensive...sp almost £3...time to sell and tidy profit!

No news or rumours and I don't think Carclo run their machinery off gas, so it must be a seller offloading to raise cash. The last time the sp hit this level it instantly rebounded to 45p.

Several of my small caps are acting just like crypto-currencies so I'm putting it down to an autumn market hormone in-balance. If the directors think 51p is a good price to purchase then that's good enough for me. Keep topping up at these silly prices!

It's a waiting game until results & news release concerning new customers...but that is what is required of a recovery stock! As long as the directors are confident (which they are, see recent buys) and profits are ploughed back into the business (which they are, see new machinery investment & hirings) then nothing to worry about much.
What would bother me is if they try to raise cash to reduce the pension deficit (via rights issue or diluting the share base).
But with or without covid the medical plastics division is onto a sure winner!

Hi Smart, I too have also found chat boards to be a route to some very profitable trades and discovered ITX the same way. Re. Filtronic, I think in the short term it may actually be a better trade than ITX given that they do not have covid-related supply chain problems, order delays or have to deal with increased raw material prices and have also had several directors bought in. Granted, though, ITX should be a stronger bet in the long term given its green credentials. Cheers

Thanks FrozenA, I don't have anything to comment on ITX now but as a general conversation starter there was something in the financial news recently about small UK manufacturers being due for a re-rating...the sector certainly looks unloved and much under-priced. May I share my other interests from this sector in which I am invested and particularly hopeful for 2022: car (overweight), ftc & lpa. The coming week's weather looks to be a bit over-cast so it might be interesting reading material whilst you're stuck indoors!

Hi all, just bought in to ITX for the first time. Agrieved to see my purchase not mentioned in the trades section for the umpteenth time, for this share and many others. In fact, I am starting to view the trades/sells here as a 'maybe' indicator as it is apparently so untrustworthy. Much better to read from the actual sp and spread. It's interesting that ITX is sharing similar features with other companies that have had a successful placement, during which time the sp has drifted lower prior to anticipation of positive news...before a hopeful rebound!

A lot of news all at once...Ofgem getting sorted and director buys...definately a good sign and for the sp to rise to where it was pre-covid. Have topped up this morning (although the trade isn't shown).

If they can get away with a £12.5 million hit then it should be considered a very good result. Hopefully the provisional view can be made a final one asap, then the sp can start to move up, up and away!

Waiting for OFGEM to make a decision...

Perfect timing for the bosses to award themselves share options, given that the sp is at a summer low point. At least it gives a bit of hope that the sp has hit a low point and is unlikely to fall much further. Am interested to know where these shares are coming from ie. from thin air or future dilution? I suppose the message must be, buy now and hold til 2022/23/24 to have a prosperous pension!

My top-up today is also shown as a sell. Take advantage of the current wild gyrations as they won’t last forever!

Peel Hunt gave a target price of 65p last week - so it must be them!

Have been thinking the same that Carclo may be forced via a takeover and involved with Mologic/Gates,Soros. The sudden drop is a bit perplexing - let us hope that it is something to do with changes of share onerships rather than the factory being shutdown due to staff shortages. Is there anyone who lives nearby who could have a look at the staff car park to see if it is still full!
If the business is still running at the same speed then I would say, don't lose your head or jump off any tall buildings just yet.

Some big sellers and a load of day traders unloading. Fantastic opportunity to top-up at a cheap price. No news, good or bad, and directors bought only last week.

Disappointing the sp has gone down especially after last weeks director buys but anything sub 50p looks like a bargain to me (echoes of October last year when the sp went from 23 to 12 before rising to 60+).
I intend to re-jig my portfolio to top up again. Reason for this is that a swift rebound may take place once details of contracts are released, which will be with one of the big boys (ie. Mologic?) in which case profits in the next reporting period will be much improved and should please the City.
Don't like betting everything on one stock but I am more than happy to be mega-overweight in Carclo (despite the pension liabilities and lack of divvi til 2023) because management look to know what they are doing and profits are being ploughed back into the medical plastics division and the fact they are buying new machinery and still recruiting.

The results today were what I imagined them to be (satisfactory) although I was surprised the sp was hammered so much. Hopefully the friday meeting will reveal essential tie-ups with covid-pharma and involvement in lateral flow testing.
An interesting comment from The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control...who said last week that it estimates that by the end of August the delta variant will represent 90% of all Covid viruses circulating in the EU.
An appalling prospect but entirely predictable given that EU countries test a fraction of what the UK does (Poland for example has practically no testing and Macron has also recently made appalling decisions to open up against the advice of his health chiefs). The outlook therefore is for major increased demands for medical plastics until 2022 and beyond.
I may appear to be a carclo-optimist but if you can't make money producing medical plastics in a pandemic then when can you make money?

Oggy, I own 0.4% of Carclo so I suggest you stick everything on it instead of spreading it around. After wednesday it is likely to go up but very unlikely to go down. Q1 2021 may not be as wished-for but prospects for the rest of this year should be very positive. Good luck.

As a shareholder I have read all recent posts and agree with Wigwammer that DC has been a little too generous in his (and his wife's remuneration), especially given the current low sp and the potential for the delta variant to take off in other countries (thus affecting the Bricks rental business).
Saying that, it mostly comes down to future profits, and DC may be proved correct in his recent assessment of prospects in 2022. Although whether these will translate into the top line is another matter, given the paltry 16% stake in StartArt and the undecided DC's fees.
I do intend to top up if the sp falls much lower in the short term. Despite all the recent positive news announcements and the fact that the company actually survived through covid-2020 there are still one or two reasons to be cautious.

As SS17 says, there is no new information in the Guardian article. Their suggestion that David Cameron and other members of the government may be implicated is actually quite reassuring as Boris will definitely shut that can of worms before it has a chance of being opened. May be a good opportunity to buy on a temporary dip tomorrow.
