Interims and presentation on 5th December... it will be interesting to see how the sp will react until then. Things looking good for this year (ongoing rationalisation within plastics division and rising demand for aircraft cables). The Trump tariffs might have no effect (extra US production offset by higher USD) but these figures due shortly might set the tone for Carclo's future - C*ckney Rebel seems to think so with his 2 x share-tip as does Schroders with a 19% holding. I've topped up at 32p in anticipation (even in this moribund market) and hoping for a higher sp in the 40s in the run up to New Year.

I would add that if the market is impressed then 2025 could easily see a doubling of the sp.

Interesting you mentioned Carclo as ftc and car comprise 75% of my portfolio (bought in 9p and 6p respectively). Car recently tipped @ by C*ckney Rebel and both up x6 & x8 redpectively, with a lot more to go in 2025 as they have huge recovery & growth potential (and both with robust exposure to US market).

This had to happen sooner or later as Trx is a minnow in a pond full of much bigger fish. It makes sense for the business to be bought up by a US rival and it's hardly the only Aim company putting itself out to be bought up. 65p is still cheapish so I've added.

Trx is similar to other aim stocks (such as Tide for example) in that you buy and then wait for a year or three - for a takeover approach.

It will happen to Trx but the watchword is patience.

In reply, I don’t think the FT has much interest in peddling a strong political agenda and the fact that a rumour has emerged of an increase in cgt in tje budget speaks for itself. Anyway - it dipped under 30p friday and today had a 9% bounce, so lucky for those who thought like myself!

Front page on FT says company execs are selling to avoid cgt ahead of the budget - in which case, Car and many other smaller shares which have had really quite sizeable falls are genuine bargains at the moment (that is, until the end of the month!).

sp at 31p today suggests a number of speculative betters following ****ney rebel have left the building…but we could expect a drop to 30 or under to trigger a buying spree as the drop from 40 has been very much over-done and only a reaction to bad-news-october, as there has been no company news.

once again i would recommend car as a super buy especially on a 1-2 year timescale.

I've been recommending these since covid and hold 250k shares. Since Doorenbosch took charge things have gone very well and as long as he stays then the sp will easily exceed the 51p (the price the old guard, Nick Sanders & Phil White bought at). A new contract to replace the lost one would see the sp jump massively (are the current suppliers of epipens able to meet future demand which is anticipated to be huge, worldwide? I doubt it) . Maybe Schroders has some inside info. that us ordinary punters don't, but a 19% holding is extremely reassuring and definitely a strong buy even at 40p.

As a long term holder (I bought all my shares at 8p) I'm tempted to sell and take the 10 times profit...but something tells me that they could still go higher. I'm referring to the new premises coming on-line early 2025 which will double production capacity, plus new space and defence orders and repeat orders for upgrades (I think I read somewhere that bits of the space kit could be upgraded after 3 years).

Question is, will the sp drift or will it hold steady more or less. I'm inclined to the latter and encouraged it's holding above 70p. If it can do this until Christmas and the new facilities aren't delayed then it's a given that it will exceed £1 in 2025

On a short term view Tide is hopeless but on a medium to long term its double-yer-money: a repeated bid is likely with a couple of years so my plan is to add on weakness and to hold for news of a bid…easy money if you have spare cash (and with interest rates expected to fall)

If you strip out the profitable aerospace division you are left with a global medical plastics network in UK, USA, EU, India and China with some of the latest machinery. Despite the pensions liability and debt this kind of network would cost a lot to reproduce.

Go go Schroders, break it up and sell it off (hopefully in the 50's)...

MMs coaxing the price down a bit before results on the 30th when, hopefully, it will take-off like a Starlink satellite.

It looks like the chart is repeating the same pattern after covid (from 6p up to 70p, then down to 10p and now up to ?). Covid tests were a great bonus in 2021/22 but there is just as much demand for medical plastics now - see weight loss pens, blood testers, cancer test kits etc. There is also a large backlog of aeroplane orders for the aerospace division.

I don't envisage a dividend any time but with the new management and directors starting to buy the sp is looking like a one way bet upwards...

Bought at 9p so I think taking gradual profits is wise strategy...buys are still outnumbering sells and ECB expected to lower rates later today. £1 would suit me fine but then every other seller thinks in round numbers too!

Was going to offload a few this morning but I think I will wait and watch the price rise a bit more...all buys in blue so far today so got to thinking something is in the air...wouldn't be surprised if further orders were announced shortly...would be icing on the cake if large predator decided to pounce as filtronic is still not too expensive compared to future sales

I read your post last year about drone production and it certainly piqued my interest. Beneficial if it comes to play although it will impact the operation in China (which I think they will have to phase out in the coming years ). I’ve still been topping up over the past year at this ridiculously low price - last week it was at the same 6p price after the covid crash (and then went to 60p at tops).

With the sp hardly moving/resisting calls to fall I think the best option is to wait for another contract win and then watch it take off into the 40s
