Phipps, No not really the board is for sharing BP company news, industry and O&G information. Not for people picking numbers out of the air or posting their own personal trades. Useless and boring information.
Yesterday was ugly on the US markets after the Fed hinted interest rates will continue to go up, and the Bank of America downgraded three of the big house builders. On the S&P 500 everything dropped except 7 energy stocks. Think I got that right but correct me if I’m wrong.
Meoryou, exactly this is why Big oil are becoming energy companies who will supply an energy mix directly into your homes. Wind is something they can do right now with their offshore expertise and equipment. If you work with your head and hands getting into a run is the most productive way to produce things. When they have a big offshore shovel ready plot they will be able to knock out and link up these big turbines in no time.
Dicklaw when I say in the future I don’t mean the next government I am talking about many years down the road. I believe I am right in saying that energy companies are investing £1 Trillion in UK offshore wind power over the next ten years so we will have to wait and see how that works out. People will continue to want more and more power and BP and Shell will be able to provide it with a flick of a switch. Simples lol
Hi Jakers, I know like I said I was trying to move the conversation back to BP. and oil and away from people who think they own this board. Barclays have had a valuation on Shell of £30 over the past two years, but one day in the future it will look like peanuts as will £7 for BP. If they can make 25% more money from wind turbines which have less installation costs, and requires less maintenance plus the new blades are recyclable well do the math.
Steve it all depends how far the house prices drop and for how long we can only wait and see. If the sp dropped to £12 next week I still would not buy because there is too much …. on the horizon.
Stevebt I also have oil shares and a lot of TW. from 2009. I plan on buying PSN but not until at least sub £12 and probably not until the end of next winter in case there is bad weather. Remember it will takes years for house prices to go back up because the builders will have to find tradesmen, materials and many people will be broke if there’s a big long recession.
Velindre, I don’t know but if the Ukrainians were behind it all they have succeeded in doing is making a martyr out of the woman and have given the Russians something to rally around. Putin could use it as an excuse for national subscription and go totally OTT.
BPinvester, I really cannot see any deal with Iran because they are required to explain all of the traces around their facility which they have not and probably won’t do. Then there’s the Israelis.
Yep £99.31 what next. There may be a lot of bad news this week from Ukraine. Putin may well think he has public opinion behind him now after the car bomb which played right into his hands.
