Yes, Mark Drakeford announced the same this morning that the Welsh Government were looking (and trialling) POC tests (actually described as like s pregnancy test) that could be carried out be individuals when arriving at places like care homes.
He said he believed these could br rolled out within weeks, but was waiting for confirmation of capacity to supply!!!
Was mentioned a couple of times.
Seemed to be excited by prospect but said he was waiting for confirmation of capacity to supply for rollout in places like care homes within weeks
Not sure if this has already been posted?
During this morning's press conference Mark Drakeford mentioned POC pregnancy style tests coming on line over next few weeks, and currently being trialed. He used the example of care homes where a visitor could test themselves in their car outside on arrival and if negative, could be free to go in???
Could be closer than we think??
Looks like LAMP testing started at Heathrow.

Recall Mologic test was also successful, so not sure if both are being/ will be used?

Multiple good news RNS’s expected to drop at any time. The virus hasn’t gone away- just news is slower than we would all like.
Should be great news for mass antibody testing - even if article looks to be written to try to show a potential problem with reinfection (minuscule chance)
Odds of reinfection look to be extremely small - 2 or 3 in 37 million?!

Looking good!

Surely the decision makers know how accurate our tests are. Other inaccurate tests are a very expensive mistake (at best)

ODX just posted job advert for new Sales Processor based in Scotland.
Guess we wouldn’t need one in we didn’t have more orders than they can currently process!?!
Couldn’t resist another top up but went from 58 ish to 59.5.. by the time I pushed the button.
Still cheap and potential to multibag- fingers crossed!
Doesn’t sound like ours is on the list currently being trialled and getting this new funding? Hopefully Gov has a plan to pull our ready made test kit out of the hat?

Matt Han**** on BBC talking about ramping up production and roll out of rapid 20min testing.
Roll out over the coming weeks and months - all seems to be aligning.
Under pressure of questioning he did mention a man in a van rather than lab as a mobile testing unit, but think that was 1 of around 100 other future options Gov are looking at. Seemed v nervous not to over promise, but sure that rapid poc testing was the next generation of test and on its way, with kits being manufactured. Gla.
BBC article slating unregulated antibody tests.

Hopefully, all aligning for our home test kit CE approval, for our gold standard tested and verified home test?
Not us and not tested? Just hope they are keeping RTC in their back pocket, or have they forgotten it is there?

He did a good job of bigging up their product - to tell the difference between flu and covid.
Sounds like a great USP
We need to get some good PR out there a bit quick because others seem to be catching up!
Han**** on BBC saying “science is changing....”
Chief medical officer to make an announcement later today- likely to be around quarantine rules but mentioned double testing for travellers. Fingers crossed.

Global Access Diagnostics looks to have been set up by Mologic as “non-commercial” facility. Looks like an old report, so not sure if this has now been trumped or what part Omega play in it? Any thoughts?
