Having seen that 2025 date for the ICC decision, I gave the ICC a call this morning to try and get some news but unfortunately the case is not in the public domain and hence the only two parties privy to information are Savannah and the Republic of Chad.

The final sentence in the first part of your post of the article in Lalchad - "Et la loi d’Airain frappa le Tchad publié dans nos colonnes," (your law of iron) refers to the following article.
hTTps://www.ialtchad.com/index.php/details/item/2887-affaire-savannah-et-la-loi-d-airain-de-l-arbitrage-frappa-le-tchad
The message conveyed by the use of the Loi d'Airain in the articles title, is that one cannot escape from the relentless, inescapable rules, in this case, of the international order.
They have gone against convention in nationalising the assets in isolation and of secondary importance, without due notice.
They also ignored the contractual notice period for raising any objection to the sale from Exxon to Savannah and I suspect the reason was that they were playing for time to give Perenco a chance to act. On the face of it their actions appear to have blown up in their faces.
The NY court decision will have been a very hard blow and will have focussed quite a few minds at the top level in the Republic of Chad.
In short the noose is tightening.
We are already well on the way to totalitarianism.
The state keeps getting bigger and bigger. Just across the channel the EU end goal is a supra national state called Europe.
Democratic it ain't and that, before anything else, should be of deep concern to people.
Just reflect on the major policy decisions in the UK in recent years that have been enacted without the consent of the people. I'll give you net zero as a freebie :)
We even have a PM who is unelected. Bit like the EU really.
I originally put jungle instead of swamp but there is indeed a rule of law in the jungle that is way above the standards (sic) of th gangsters in Chad.
Citigroup has a market capitalisation of $80 billion and I've a feeling this will not sit too comfortably when the top people get wind of events, particularly contradictory statements in writing, relating to an international legal dispute.
"4. Citibank, N.A.’s Mr. Dawodu sent a subsequent letter on July 14, 2023, in which
he claimed for the first time that the Gabon Branch is a separate corporate entity not controlled by
Citibank. A true and correct copy of the July 14, 2023 letter is annexed hereto as Exhibit 15. As
demonstrated in SMIL’s Memorandum of Law, the claim that the Gabon Branch is a separate
entity not controlled by Citibank is contradicted by numerous public statements by Citibank,
including in prior litigation in this District."
She arrived a few hours ago with supporting vessels and spud should be imminent.
Ah, this explains it:)

It's quite extraordinary how AET appears to be off the radar of folk inhabiting the LSE threads.
2 posts since August and several hundred in the other place, during the same time period, including some from Rodders :)
"I would caveat that I want to reduce pollution of the air, seas and land along with stopping deforestation."
I share your scepticism on man made climate change, after all isn't CO2 essential to life. It makes up a mere .04% of the earth's atmosphere. Plant more trees if people are serious about man's effects on the planet and stop chopping down the rain forests. I understand that 4 trees in the long term will capture around 1 ton of CO2.
I was recently reading about our wonderful Jurassic coast between East Devon and Dorset. This part caught the eye:
"What happened at the Jurassic Coast?
The Jurassic period was a warm and humid time and the creation of rainforests replaced the previous deserts. The first birds appeared and the oxygen content was 130% of what we know today! Sea levels rose and tropical seas were the order of the day along our Jurassic Coast."
