I don't know why this went up today, but of course prices don't move in a straight line. There are up days on the way down. The chart still looks dire.

For years I have said on here - in occasional postings - that this will never be consistently above 12p. A few months ago I thought things had changed an I bought a few more SHG shares. I was a mug for buying. Nothing has changed and if the gold price were to rocket, the Tanz gov't would nationalise the mines. Politicians are greedy. When mines are making hardly any money they leave them alone but when they highly profitable, they want them.

This was easy to spot. The chart was shouting "Going down".

Look at the 2Y chart. There is nothing there to make me change my view that this is going to 1p.

This was at about 2p when I first predicted a slow decline to 1p. Was I right?

I take your point slater606. I'm not saying 600s, although I can see how my comment about what happened after the last double could be taken as implying that.

Anyway, I've sold and will be buying back if and when I see a turnaround for FRES indicated on the chart.

I am not able to see the future, I don't have mystic powers but my chart analysis has been proved right in some notable cases. When CNR was at about 53p I said it was going to 43p. It did. At 43p I said it was going down further. It went to 15p. It is possibly back up to 17p, but that isn't much use to those who were buying at 53p or those who didn't sell at 43p. My posts are there to prove what I say and can give other examples of correct calls.

I am not the type who blows my own trumpet and I am sticking my neck out here with this call and leaving myself open to derision should the FRES sp shoot up, but I feel fairly confident about this bit of chart analysis, so confident that I have decided to offload more of my FRES shares.

Take a look at the 2Y chart - dire. This is going down - A LOT!

When I said I agree with you JMT1234 I was thinking more about the base metal miners rather than the PM stocks.

I think I got the tone of my earlier posts a bit wrong. It might appear that I am arguing, but that was not my intention.

If I sounded adamant that was a mistake. I forgot to say IMHO. I am pretty much in agreement with you in general, I'm just dismayed by how things have gone and am now more cautious.

As for "What you must never do is invest because someone on the internet told you it was a good idea" - you are of course correct. I judge them by track record and look for people who are consistently right, and there are very few.

For anyone who might be interested - BRWM put out regular portfolio updates and in them , they give their outlook for miners. I think the BRWM management know what they are doing so I take heed of their forecasts.
