I defy anyone to second guess this share.
Everytime I think it's going to make 300+ a new problem comes out of the woodwork. I've been averaging down over the years but I still need it to be 3.70 before I see the light. Even with the resolution with DOJ apparently agreed there's still the small matter regarding the pressure they exerted on UK businesses who were in trouble to sort out.
Just when you starting thinking positive, this share bites back.
I'm in my 8th year but I've been slowly averaging down. Fortunately I'm a patient sort.
I'm a long term patient with this one. Hopefully some thoughts of the end of the tunnel for me but I'm still not seeing the light just yet. I think it'll be a bumpy ride but it has the feeling of being on the way up with less negative news. I need 3.80 to get back to even, I'd like to think it'll happen in the next 18 months.
Sorry made a typo, the 1st line should read the IPO was introduced at the lowest
It’s an interesting situation. The IPO was came in at the lowest end of the price range 260-310 and yet we were given to believe the IPO was oversubscribed (otherwise why would they ration the allocation for initial purchases over £1,000). I can only assume Barclays are still acting as a stabilization manger using up a portion of their 13 million shares. Having said that, there has been a distinct lack of volume today so Barclays would not have had to intervene. There are no broker views as yet so it won’t be high on many investors radar but you would have thought as one of the few recent IPO’s, the market would still be watching and waiting for an opportunity. Anybody any ideas on the stall on the sp?
sircliff, I like your enthusiastic optimism and belief in this share I hope it rewards us all.
Known by whom outside the board and advisors? As far as I’m aware they have not been published. The income rates were already given in the prospectus.
I agree I don’t see any significant movement until the RNS on Friday and that will test the market. I’m still of the opinion they wouldn’t have taken the step of announcing they were going to issue the results on Friday if a) they didn’t want the sp to slip too much and b) they weren’t happy with the results. I still see this as a hold and possibly a weak buy sub 260 for steady but limited growth with excellent dividends, but as always DYOR.
I think you'll start to see the broker views appears in the next couple of weeks
My expectation now is for the MM’s to move in to slowly drive the share price down to increase the dividend above 7%. It will be interesting to see what resistance there is to not let the sp drop much below the initial IPO price. Never had a 3 putt on Sat but did have 1 four putt, (in my defence the 1st one was from off the green, and it was a tricky borrow and the sun was in my eyes and I wasn't feeling too good and.........)
The share price should not affect the dividend; it was already set out in the extremely long and tedious prospectus. It would appear most of the institutional players have now decided on their strategy regarding either selling or holding and the majority of movement will now come from PI’s. Imo this is not a share for rapid growth but it will see some, the first indication as to what the markets think will be next Friday. As always, DYOR.
They must be concerned about the lack of increase in the share price but they must be pleased with the results. I’m still seeing this as a hold for the slow growth with the added benefit of a 7% divi
Judging by the drop today it appears its not only the government who are not interested in green energy.
Working on the basis the directors can't sell any shares for at least 12 months and the prospect of a 7% divi I think we will see a rise. I think £3 may be optomistic for this year. I'm prepared to hold in the short term.
Looking at the individual trades which generally are small volumes it seems to me it's profit taking from the original IPO. I'm expecting it to reverse as the day progresses.
I'm surprised by the low volume of trades and the price drop, currently 266p at 09.47
