Well I bought back in later in the day, and could have chiselled a 4% advantage on the sell price, but suddenly realized the Mrs had gone to the cinema with the access code. Only managed a 1% additional gain over the general upward momentum. There's a moral to this story... somewhere.

Profits. Sold 20,000 and 23,583 shares.

In this morning at 26.33p with. Previously sold on 4th June when it looked as if the slide downwards might have accelerated. Its looking promising again for Gold miners.

I sold on 4th June, I did say so on the MTL board "I sold nearly all my Gold shares today, so as to lock-in my gains of the last 12 months. The Gold price maybe off its peak, but is still high, just sentiment for miners has come off the boil. Sold HOC, EDV, RSG, MTL, ANTO, WPM, PAF, BMV, CAML, and in the USA AGI, PAAS, & WPM. Maybe a wrong move, but a substantial profit was too much to resist vs potential drift downwards." The end result is a bit mixed, but with regards to HOC I'm back in at a 9% lower cost. Reading Investors Chronicle today (in WH Smiths, as I won't bother paying anymore) , I see an article re buying Gold shares and Copper; they appear to be 6 months behind what's actually going on, they really appear to have lost touch.

My holding on 4th June at £1.828 when it was a bit toppy, and have just bought back 35,837 shares. Hopefully my timing is better than usual.

Are only two people in the world who understand Gold, its value and where its price will go. One is in the Bank of England and the other is in the basement of the the Banque de France..... unfortunately they disagree with each other.

Besides China, there was also the US "non-farm payrolls expanded by 272,000 on its first estimate for May – over 55% stronger than consensus forecasts" which leads to a lower chance of the Fed lowering interest rates as many had hoped.

Sold "When it was up 20% today. Will buy back again if it should drop tomorrow as AIM stuff often does." Well its down 17% since I wrote that on the 20th May. Today when it was announced that The Chinese government bank has not bought any bullion in May. One has to wonder what a miner that has not produced any Gold as yet how its share price will behave; it may prove to be a record breaker, but must remain as a small punt to the cautious.

Most of my Gold mining shares today, but held on to SRB which appears to be bucking the downward trend. Ash on BullionVa... makes some good points today as to what's happening re Gold.
