When it comes to institutional investors buying into companies on AIM (Alternative Investment Market), there’s no official minimum valuation required — but in practice, institutional appetite is highly dependent on:
50 million
Very limited
Too small for many institutions; considered illiquid and high-risk. Often dominated by retail or specialist small-cap funds.
£50m – £100m
Moderate interest
Some small-cap focused institutions may consider positions, but not in large size. Liquidity still a concern.
£100m – £250m
Mainstream entry point
More institutions will consider participating, especially if there’s good governance, clear growth story, and solid liquidity.
£250m+
High institutional access
Opens up interest from generalist funds, pension funds, and larger asset managers.
Once we break 1.07p, 100m market cap
it should be clear blue skies ahead
Good luck, everyone
